Skin-constrained expandable bellows

ActiveCN117184411BWingsBellow pistonsClassical mechanicsStructural engineering
An augmented assembly skin-constrained expandable bellows system includes a top end cap, a bottom end cap, and a bellows attached to and separating the top and bottom end caps, and configured to retain pressurized fluid between the top and bottom end caps. The system also includes nozzles configured to allow fluid to enter and exit the bellows, and a non-extendable skin attached to each of the top and bottom end caps and to the bellows. When the bellows expands via the nozzles, the top end cap is in a first position, and when the top end cap is adjusted from the first position to a second position, the skin is configured to hold the top end cap in the second position and constrain the bellows into a predetermined rigid three-dimensional shape.

Method of assembling a bellows accumulator for a suspension damper

A method of assembling an accumulator for a suspension damper, wherein the method includes the steps of forming a housing for the accumulator, assembling a bellows assembly by connecting a distal plate and a proximal plate to opposite ends of an annular bellows wall, and inserting the bellows assembly into the housing. The housing is formed such that it includes a distal end having an end wall and an open end opposite the distal end. The bellows assembly is inserted into the open end of the housing in an orientation with the distal plate facing the end wall of the housing. The method continues with coupling the distal plate of the bellows assembly to a stem of a charge port on the end wall of the housing at a fixed axial location using a fixture that engages the stem of the charge port.

The sleeve (2) has, in succession in the axial direction, at least one first annular end, referred to as the large base (4), a part (5) which can be deformed in the direction of an elongation or shortening of said bellows (1) and which is formed of a succession of coaxial turns, and a second annular end referred to as the small base (6). The sleeve (2) has a zone (7) of transition between the deformable part (5) and the large base (4) and having, in the transition zone (7), a radial outlet (8) provided in the peripheral lateral wall (3) of the sleeve (2). The radial outlet (8) is closed by a tubular endpiece (9) that is mounted on the radial outlet (8) and that has a first end (10) connected to the radial outlet (8) and an opposite closed end (11). This endpiece (9) extends outside the sleeve (2), this endpiece (9) internally delimiting a cavity (10) housing at least one fluid-tightness sensor (13) of the bellows.

Bellows accumulator mounting for suspension dampers

An accumulator for a vehicle suspension damper includes a housing having an open end connected to an accumulator port on the damper and a distal end opposite the open end including an end wall extending radially inward to a charge port. A bellows assembly including an annular bellows wall extending between a proximal plate and a distal plate is positioned within the housing to define a pressurized gas chamber within the accumulator arranged in fluid communication with the charge port. The charge port includes a stem extending inward from the end wall of the housing and the distal plate of the bellows assembly has an inner diameter received on the stem. The inner diameter of the distal plate is coupled to the stem of the charge port by a securing member.

Pneumatic drive device for translational and / or rotational movement

A pneumatic drive device includes a housing, a piston, and a first membrane. The first membrane and the piston are coupled to each other in such a way that an axial movement of the first membrane, caused by pressurizing a first pressure chamber, is converted into a translational movement of the piston. The pneumatic drive device also includes an output element, and a membrane. The membrane and the output element are coupled to each other in such a way that a circumferentially section-wise oscillating axial movement of the membrane, caused by circumferentially successive pressurization and depressurization of respective pressure chambers, is converted into a rotational movement of the output element.
