agricultural irrigation water demand prediction method, which comprises the following steps: selecting a 
reference period, and selecting crops of which the seeding area is greater than a set proportion as typical crops; calculating the 
irrigation water quota of the typical crops in the growth period according to the meteorological information; obtaining the ten-day rainfall of each meteorological 
station in the water-saving area, and calculating the effective rainfall of the typical crops based on the ten-day rainfall; calculating 
irrigation water demand of typical crops in unit area; judging whether the 
irrigation water demand per unit area of at least one typical 
crop is greater than the average value of the actual 
irrigation water demand per unit area of a continuous actual measurement year or not, and if so, correcting the 
irrigation water demand per unit area of all typical crops; otherwise, calculating the total water demand of the next year by adoptingthe 
irrigation water demand per unit area of each typical 
crop and the planting area of the next year. According to the scheme, the calculated irrigation water demand is corrected through the actualirrigation 
water consumption, so that the accuracy of irrigation water demand prediction can be improved, and the water-saving effect can be scientifically evaluated.
