An audio speaker having a speaker housing surrounding a back volume that is divided into a rear cavity behind a speaker driver and an adsorption cavity separated from the rear cavity by a permeable partition, is disclosed. More particularly, the adsorption cavity may be defined between the speaker housing and the permeable partition, and may be directly filled with adsorptive particles to adsorb gas during sound generation. The permeable partition may allow the gas to flow between the rear cavity and the adsorption cavity, and may retain the adsorptive particles within the adsorption cavity. A sulfoalkyl ether-alkyl ether cyclodextrin (SAE-AE-CD) derivative is provided. The SAE-AE-CD possesses advantages over known SAE-CD and AE-CD derivatives as well as over the parent cyclodextrin by being more water soluble and less membrane disturbing. The SAE-AE-CD includes at least one sulfoalkyl ether group and at least one alkyl ether group even though the degree of substitution for the functional groups can be different. The SAE functional group can be present in molar excess over the AE functional group and vice versa. The total degree of substitution of the cyclodextrin, with respect to both functional groups, can be varied such that a minority or a majority of the hydroxyl moieties of the CD are derivatized. The SAE-AE-CD derivative can be used to solubilize compounds with insufficient water solubility. In some cases, they also stabilize compounds in solution against degradation or to solubilize degradation products formed during degradation. The present invention discloses a system and method for segmenting foreground and background in a video, wherein the system comprises: a video shooting module for shooting the video; a data reading module for reading each frame of the video; a primary segmentation module for establishing a plurality of Gaussian models in a first color space for each pixel of each frame, and performing a matching processing between each pixel of the current frame and the plurality of Gaussian models corresponding to the pixel, and primarily segmenting the pixels as foreground and background according to the result of the matching processing; and a segmentation rejudging module for performing a rejudging processing to the primarily segmented foreground and background in a second color space, so as to obtain the finally determined foreground and background. The present invention improves the effect of foreground segmentation by using the combination of the color spaces and introducing the relationship between pixels.

A fast switching arbitrary frequency light source for broadband spectroscopic applications. The light source may operate near 1.6 um based on sideband tuning using an electro-optic modulator driven by an arbitrary waveform generator. A Fabry-Perot filter cavity selects a single sideband of the light source. The finesse (FSR/Δν_FWHM) of the filter cavity may be chosen to enable rapid frequency switching at rates up to 5 MHz over a frequency range of 40 GHz (1.3 cm⁻¹). The device comprises a coil having a proximal portion and a distal portion extending longitudinally from the proximal portion. The device further comprises a first set of fibers attached to the coil and extending therefrom for occlusion of the body cavity. A dual-cavity method and device for collecting and storing solar energy with metal oxide particles. Solar radiation irradiates into a light receiving cavity of a dual-cavity, heat-collecting reactor to heat a separating plate and preheat metal oxide particles. The preheated metal oxide particles then enter a reacting cavity. As temperature increases, the metal oxide particles reduce to release oxygen, which discharges through a gas outlet. Reduced metal oxide particles discharge through a particle outlet into a particle storage tank, and then into an oxidation heat exchanger to react with the discharged oxygen discharged to release and transfer stored chemical energy to a medium to be heated. The oxidized metal oxide particles are conveyed into a storage tank, and again enter into a particle inlet of the light receiving cavity. Ambient air controls the gas flow rate in the reactor and the reacting rate in exchanger.
