A method for deriving an image identifier comprises deriving a scale-space representation of an image, and processing the scale-space representation to detect a plurality of feature points having values that are maxima or minima. A representation is derived for a scale-dependent image region associated with one or more of the detected plurality of feature points. In an embodiment, the size of the image region is dependent on the scale associated with the corresponding feature point. An image identifier is derived using the representations derived for the scale-dependent image regions. The image identifiers may be used in a method for comparing images.

The MTT can include a layer of antiferromagnetic material that is exchange coupled with the pinned layer in an area outside of the active area of me sensor, such as outside the track-width, beyond the stripe height, or both outside the track-width and beyond the stripe height. The pinned layer can also be pinned without any exchange coupling at all. In that case, pinning can be assisted by shape enhanced magnetic anisotropy, by extending the pinned layer beyond the stripe height.

A magnetic tunnel transistor (MTT) having a pinned layer that is extended in a stripe height direction and is exchange coupled with an antiferromagnetic (AFM) layer in the extended portion outside of the active area of the sensor. Exchange coupling only the extended portion of the pinned layer with the AFM results in strong, robust pinning of the pinned layer while eliminating the AFM layer from the active portion of the sensor. The presence of an AFM layer within the active area of the sensor would result in an extreme loss of hot electrons resulting in a prohibitively large loss of performance. Therefore, eliminating the AFM layer from the active area provides a very large performance enhancement while maintaining robust pinning.

Quadrature frequency-division and time-division transmitter, receiver and method thereof

Techniques are provided to support orthogonal multiple carriers frequency-time division multiplex based on orthogonal frequency division multiplex and single carrier with frequency domain equalization in prior art. At a transmitter end, Serial to Parallel Transform and Inverse Fast Fourier Transform are performed for the input serial data stream, then data blocks after IFFT are multiplexed to be a OFTDM symbol data part in temporal sequence; and then a circulation prefix is added in its front-part to form a final OFTDM symbol. At a receiver end, the CP in the front-part of the OFTDM symbol down-converted to a baseband is removed, and after the operations of data de-multiplex, FFT and P / S corresponding to the transmitter end are performed, the original serial data stream is recovered. Except for including the advantage of said prior art, this disclosure can overcome their disadvantage, and a preferable tradeoff between the general performance and complexity of the system can be acquired.
