A wearable computing device includes an input/output port for communicating with an external mobile device, a microphone for receiving speech data, a speaker for outputting audio feedback data, and a mobile processor. The mobile processor is designed to receive detected speech data corresponding to a request to open an application on the external mobile device, transmit the request to the external mobile device, and receive a description of content within the application from the external mobile device. The mobile processor is also designed to transmit the description to the speaker to be output, receive detected speech data corresponding to a request for the external mobile device to perform an action within the application, and transmit the request to the external mobile device. The mobile processor is also designed to receive results of the action from the external mobile device and transmit the results to the speaker to be output.

A method for parallelizing XSLT processing on devices with multiple processors is therefore devised. The method divides XSLT processing into separately schedulable subtasks, synchronizes these subtasks, and schedules such subtasks on multiple processors for improved time and energy efficiency.

The verifiable authorization from said provider infrastructure is displayed on a device for said mobile user of said provider infrastructure to obtain the item from the source of the item consistent with the consolidated data. If a purchase decision is made, the system and method for obtaining an item may also include retrieving payment verification from the provider infrastructure for the item from the source of the item. This payment verification is consistent with the consolidated data and by a preselected method of payment by the mobile user of the provider infrastructure. The provider infrastructure is updated with data related to the mobile user of the provider infrastructure and the source of the item.

Rate matching for use in data links between a source device and a sink device is provided. A rate matching device includes a first-in-first-out (FIFO) buffer having a write pointer and a read pointer; a write control having a write clock to write an input data stream from the source device onto the FIFO buffer using the write pointer; a read control having a read clock to read data from the FIFO buffer using a read pointer, insert data to an output data stream and transmitting the data stream to the sink device; a processor to provide a bit number based on the write clock period and the read clock period, wherein the read control inserts blanking data into the output data stream while the read pointer is stopped in the FIFO buffer to allow the write pointer to move ahead by the bit number provided by the processor. Some embodiments are thus able to avoid buffer overflow or underflow scenarios.

The method comprises the following steps: establishing a CPU power consumption model; modifying a program to be measured and recompiling; setting a platform to be measured; and operating the program to be measured and carrying out data processing. Therefore, the method of the present invention can promptly recognize the non-offloaded packet to greatly lower the recognition workload of an embedded processor, to improve the efficiency of executing a partial offloaded process by the embedded processor and to decrease the operation delay of the non-offloaded packet in a protocol offload processing system.

Systems and methods for preventing the unauthorized removal of mobile processor-based devices from designated areas (e.g., inside of a shopping area). The system may utilize a beacon technology based on a low energy protocol to prevent unauthorized removal of the devices. An anti-theft beacon system which includes an RF beacon transmitter may be positioned proximate an exit of a designated area. Mobile processor-based devices detect beacon signals from the anti-theft beacon system. Responsive to such detection, a device determines that it has been removed from the designated area. The device may then perform one or more anti-theft actions, including operating as a beacon once removed from the designated area. An auxiliary power source may power a beacon of the mobile processor-based device when the mobile processor-based device has been removed from the designated area so that the beacon may still broadcast signals even when a primary power source is disabled.
