This application relates to an energy storage device protection circuit for use in a hybrid system supplying power to an active dynamic DC load, such as an electric vehicle drive. The circuit prevents over-discharge of the energy storage device and ensures that the system will be capable of delivering a minimum acceptable level of power to the load, even when the energy storage device is in a low state of charge or other de-rated mode. The hybrid system includes a power generator such as fuel cell capable of supplying at least the average power value requirements of the load and an energy storage device such as a battery or capacitor capable of supplying at least the difference between the peak power requirements of the load and the average power value. A controller is provided for controlling the relative supply of power to the load from the power generator and the energy storage device. The protection circuit is in series with the energy storage device and may include a first switch controllable by the controller, a diode in parallel with the first switch and optionally a current-limiting impedance in parallel with the first switch. The system may be implemented in lift trucks and the like to prevent overdriving of the vehicle in a low state of charge condition while permitting the operator to safely return the vehicle to a service location. The system regulates the output of the fuel cell in both the normal and de-rated operating modes to avoid load-following operation.

In particular, the present invention is directed to assigning work to service locations having the greatest probability of servicing the work within a target time. Because an average wait time is not necessarily equal to a probability of servicing work within a target time, the present invention is useful in meeting service target goals. When a particular service is desired, the network device consults the lists and is able to request acquisition of the service from any network device known to host the service, either locally or on a remote network device. Systems and methods for providing improved location such as emergency services location of mobile devices in an over the air communications system are disclosed. On receiving a request, a user equipment (UE) mobile device makes observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) measurements on signals received from certain cell communication elements. The UE selects or prioritizes the cells based on one of several schemes, including comparing internally stored cell ID information to cell ID information provided by the network, and using lists of cells that are recently used, recently received, previously used, or on a closed subscriber group (CSG) list are alternative embodiments. The UE may prioritize home eNB cells that it is a member of for the measurements. By prioritizing the cells used for the measurements, the OTDOA measurements may be limited to a few cells and the time needed to make the measurements may be reduced.

Systems and methods for providing support services to users of programmable devices are provided. One of many possible methods for providing support services for a plurality of programmable devices associated with a plurality of users involves the steps of: receiving user-specific data associated with one of the programmable devices and the corresponding user; storing the user-specific data associated with the programmable device and the corresponding user; receiving notification that a replacement programmable device for the programmable device is needed by the user; and configuring the replacement programmable device based on the user-specific data associated with the programmable device and the corresponding user. The method may further involve the steps of: providing the replacement programmable device to the user; receiving the programmable device; repairing the programmable device; providing the repaired programmable device to the user; receiving the replacement programmable device from the user; and receiving payment for providing the support services to the user.

A method and apparatus are provided for aligning the printer carriage of an inkjet printer with a service station of the printer where for example capping, wiping or spitting of inkjet cartridges held by the printer carriage can be performed. The method utilizes an optical sensor mounted on the printer carriage to scan a reference mark within the service area. A method for enabling at least one of a plurality of user devices to provide a service flow is described. In one example, a code is transmitted to a home identification device (HID) to be combined with an HID identification number. The combined response, which is comprised of the code and the HID identification number, is then transmitted from the HID and received by the user device(s). If the combined response is equivalent to at least one predetermined match key, which is stored in the user device(s), that user device(s) provides the service flow to a respective television(s).

A method for conditionally forwarding a call for use in a communication network including a switching center in communication with at least one alternative system, an Intelligent Peripheral, and a plurality of subscribers, each subscriber having at least one directory number. The method includes providing a service location register in communication with the switching center, the service location register operative to retrieve stored call termination parameters for each of the subscriber directory numbers and call information for each incoming call to a directory number, the call termination parameters including call forwarding features. A busy or no answer condition is detected for a call to a directory number and a request is forwarded to the service location register for routing instructions. Service logic is applied to forward the call to a Direct Inward Dialing (DID) number of a resource on the IP and service logic is applied to terminate the call at the directory number or route the call to the at least one alternative system.
