Multi-tenant audit awareness in support of cloud environments

A cloud enablement aggregation proxy (CEAP) receives and processes audit data from audited resources before such data is stored in a database. The CEAP manages log data for resources hosted in a multi-tenant shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., a compute cloud). A method for managing log data begins by the proxy aggregating and normalizing log information received from a plurality of the resources. The aggregated and normalized log information is then parsed to identify a tenant associated with each of a set of transactions. For each of the set of transactions, the CEAP annotates log data associated with the tenant and the particular transaction to include a tenant-specific identifier. An optional tenant separation proxy (TSP) separates the annotated log data on a per tenant basis prior to storage, and the tenant-specific log data may be stored in per tenant data structures or dedicated tenant log event databases to facilitate subsequent compliance or other analysis.

Apparatus and methods for monitoring and modifying anticoagulation therapy of remotely located patients

A patient apparatus is configured to receive and analyze information regarding patient compliance with anticoagulation medication and self-test coagulation regimens related to anticoagulation therapy. In addition, a patient apparatus is configured to receive data from a patient, including physiological data, pathophysiological data, biological data, psychological data, neuropsychological data, and / or behavioral data. Utilizing the received patient data, a patient apparatus can modify a warfarin regimen using an algorithm contained within the apparatus. The apparatus can communicate the modified warfarin regimen to the patient and to third parties, such as remotely located healthcare providers. In addition, the apparatus can prompt a patient when to perform a self-test and can prompt a patient to seek immediate medical attention, or to directly contact medical help, when so warranted.

Enhanced flow data records including traffic type data

Methods, apparatuses and systems directed to a flow-based, traffic-classification-aware data collection and reporting system that combine flow-based data collection technologies with enhanced traffic classification functionality to allow for analysis and reporting into aspects of network operations that prior art systems cannot provide. Embodiments provide enhanced views into the operation of computer network infrastructures to facilitate monitoring, administration, compliance and other tasks associated with networks. When a traffic flow terminates, a traffic monitoring device emits a flow data record (FDR) containing measurements variables and other attributes for an individual flow. A data collector gathers the flow data records and enters them into a database. A network management application can then query the database with selected commands to derive reports characterizing operation of the network suitable to diagnose problems or view conditions associated with the network.

Real time financial instrument image exchange system and method

A real time financial instrument image exchange system and method deliver a digital image of a financial instrument (for example, a bank check) very quickly through an image exchange network to a payor institution by promptly forwarding the digital image when it is created at a depositing institution. This may expedite pay or return decisions to be made by payor institutions, which may enable banks to truncate checks, to reduce fraud and its costs, and to facilitate compliance with banking regulations. Such image capture, as well as related data capture, and real-time transfer enable emulation to an item processing system of the payor institution whereby the payor's item processing system processes the image and data as if it did the original capture actually performed at the depositing institution.

Apparatus and Method for Monitoring Hygiene

Method and apparatus for monitoring and reporting hand washing at a sanitizing station employs a sensor for signaling the dispensation of a sanitizing agent from a dispenser and setting a clear signal to permit passage through a portal, such as an entrance to a room. The module in turn includes an input element, an output element, a processor, and memory. The module operates in person and administrator modes. In the person mode, the module responds to an input signaling that a person has dispensed sufficient sanitizer to mitigate the spread of germs from care giver / health care worker to patient. The person activates the sanitizer to dispense the sanitizer liquid or foam and that action signals that the cleaning agent has been dispensed and turns on the entrance permitted light. If the dispenser is not activated or the amount of sanitizer dispensed is not adequate to sanitize the person's hands, a sensor positioned at the entrance of the door alarms. The apparatus may be installed quickly and easily, at lower cost, in a wide variety of sanitization stations, and can be used with existing, preinstalled sanitization dispensers or with a new dispenser. When in administrator mode, the module allows for passage of beds, equipment and supplies to the room.

User software for facilitating copyright licensing and compliance

A computer program for use on a user computing device with access to a computer network in conjunction with a rendering program that can present to a user a work of authorship. The work of authorship may be visual, auditory, musical, textual, graphical or any combination. The rendering program can be any program that renders a work of authorship retrieved from across the network, such as a standard browser. The computer program can be a plug-in. The computer program cues the user to a work that is available for licensing by searching the work for an identification which it sends to a server to look up licensing availability. By also sending an identifier of the computer program, it can determine whether a site license has been granted for that work for that user. It can track uses of each work by the user and report them to copyright managers.
