The invention concerns a method and means for control of traffic on a network by route control. The method and the means are based on functions in a traffic management system. That alternative route is separated from the first route at a node upstream of the bottleneck and is routing at least parts of the traffic another road passing the bottleneck of the first route. Essential method steps are estimating and controlling traffic margins on selected links and nodes in the network and utilizing those margins at the route control. An oil and gas well shaped charge perforator capable of providing an exothermic reaction after detonation is provided, comprising a housing, a high explosive, and a reactive liner where the high explosive is positioned between the reactive liner and the housing. The reactive liner is produced from a composition which is capable of sustaining an exothermic reaction during the formation of the cutting jet. The composition may be selected from any known formulation which is suitable for use in an oil and gas well perforator, typically the composition will comprise at least one metal and at least one non-metal, wherein the non-metal is selected from a metal oxide, or any non-metal from Group III or Group IV or at least two metals such as to form an intermetallic reaction. Typically at least one of the metals in the invention may be selected from Al, Ce, Li, Mg, Mo, Ni, Nb, Pb, Pd, Ta, Ti, Zn or Zr. The liner composition may preferably be a pressed particulate composition, such that the material is consolidated under pressure to form the desired shape of the liner. To aid consolidation a binder may also be added.

Pulsatile blood pump

There is provided a pulsatile blood pump (10) for implantation into a patient. The pulsatile blood pump comprises a substantially tubular body (12) a flexible membrane (14) and a port (16). The substantially tubular body is for replacing a resected portion of a blood vessel of the patient. The substantially tubular body has first and second ends with a blood passageway extending therebetween for the passage of blood. The flexible membrane is attached to the tubular body so as to form a fluid chamber between the flexible membrane and an inner surface of the tubular body. The flexible membrane thereby separates the fluid chamber from the blood passageway. The tubular body comprises the port. The port is arranged to allow fluid to flow into and out of the fluid chamber such that the volume of the fluid chamber increases and the volume of the blood passageway decreases when fluid flows into the fluid chamber via the port, and such that the volume of the fluid chamber decreases and the volume of the blood passageway increases when fluid flows out of the fluid chamber via the port. The blood pump is thereby enabled to pump blood along the blood passageway.

An irrigating technique that can be used to increase the flow of fluid through the trabecular meshwork. Pulses of relatively high pressure irrigating are directed at the trabecular meshwork. These pulses can be focused, thereby perforating the trabecular meshwork, or applied over a larger area so as to stimulate the trabecular meshwork for improved fluid transport. In addition, the pulses of the irrigating balance salt solution can be used to clean away material, such as iris pigment, that may be blocking or clogging the trabecular meshwork. Such a technique may be practiced using the herein disclosed tip with commercially available surgical handpieces.

High flow water return fitting for swimming pools and spas

The high flow water return fitting of the present invention is designed to connect directly to the end of a water return pipe in a swimming pool, spa, or the like. Water return fittings have been available for many years and have the primary purpose of returning filtered water back into a swimming pool, spa, or the like. However, the water return fitting of the present invention does not only return water into the swimming pool, it also substantially increases the water outflow so that a greater area of water in the pool can be circulated or agitated. The present invention has a uniquely curved nozzle with a flat flange. Both the curvature of the nozzle and the flat flange promote the accumulation of water within the nozzle so as to build up pressure that then pushes the water out a small outlet hole at a greater rate than does a conventional water return fitting. The outflow from the nozzle then creates a low pressure condition within a mixing chamber. Thus, the low pressure condition draws water in from the swimming pool through various louvers into the mixing chamber where it is mixed with the outflow of water from the nozzle to increase the total amount of water flowing out of the water return fitting of the present invention.
