The present invention relates to a power transfer system which comprises a power transfer device (10) as well as at least one portable device (20), and to a method of controlling the power transfer system specifically in case of a dead battery condition of a battery (21) of the portable device (20). The power transfer device (10) for wireless charging of the battery (21) arranged in the portable device (20) and the power transfer device (10) each comprise a near field communication functionality for data communication by a data communication link (32) between the devices. The method includes a step of starting to establish the data communication link (32) between the power transfer device (10) and the portable device (20). When the establishment of the data communication link (32) is started, the power transfer device (10) requests the portable device (20) to transmit an identification information via the data communication link (32) to the power transfer device (10). It is then detected whether the identification information of the portable device (20) is received by the power transfer device (10). Depending upon whether the identification information is received a setting is performed for setting a charging power to be transferred from the power transfer device (10) to the portable device (20). The setting provides a reduced charging power not exceeding a first predetermined value when the identification information is not received. Depending upon this setting a power transfer link (31) is established by the power transfer device (10), and the charging power not exceeding the first predetermined value is transferred to the portable device (20) so that the portable device (20) can be powered by this transferred power to enable data communication and to charge the battery (21).

A heat and humidity exchanger comprises a pleated membrane cartridge disposed in a housing. The cartridge comprises a pleated water-permeable membrane via which heat and humidity can be transferred between two fluid streams. A flow field element is disposed within some or all of the folds of the pleated membrane, for directing the stream over the inner surfaces of the folds. The flow field path defined by the flow field element enhances flow distribution across one or both membrane surfaces, controlling the relative flow paths of the two streams on opposite sides of the membrane and reducing the pressure drop across the heat and humidity exchanger. The flow field elements provide improved water transfer and allow for a more compact device. The flow field elements can also assist in supporting the pleated membrane and controlling the pleat spacing within the pleated membrane cartridge. The heat and humidity exchanger is particularly suitable for fuel cell and energy recovery ventilator (ERV) applications.

A method is disclosed for charging a power source of a device. The method is performed by one or more processors. The one or more processors detect that a charging interface of the device and a charging interface of a charging dock are misaligned when the device is placed into contact or operational proximity with the charging dock. The device is automatically caused to move relative to the charging dock to achieve alignment.

An air temperature and humidity control device using a liquid-desiccant humidity controller thermally coupled to a heat pump is disclosed. The present invention provides a hydrocarbon fuel reformer systems that improve the recovery and utilization of the water vapor and/or the heat energy within the reformer system. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention utilizes a desiccant matrix maintained in a water transfer assembly to collect, in a continuous manner, water from a process stream and transfer the water to a reactivation stream to return the water vapor to the reformer, with or without the use of a heat exchanger, and without requiring the collection and evaporation of liquid water.

The present invention generally offers a system and a method that allows a vessel to treat water while providing corrosion inhibition. A nitrogen source produces nitrogen gas that may be pumped directly to, preferably but optionally, a venturi injector, or may first be pumped into an empty tank and then delivered to the injector means. Water being pumped through the injector via a transfer piping means comes into contact with the nitrogen, and dissolved oxygen in the water transfers to micro-fine nitrogen bubbles generated by the injector. The water and the micro-fine bubbles are pumped from the injector and into the tank, where the micro-fine bubbles float to the surface, and the oxygen is released into the tank's headspace. The deoxygenated water may be re-circulated through the system for additional deoxygenation or released from the tank into the surrounding waterways.

The invention relates to paper and a process for making the same, in particular to a process for making precoated water transfer printing paper base paper. The process comprises the following steps that: after steps of crushing, pulp beating, pulp mixing, screening and purification, on-screen forming, dewatering and drying, surface glue blending and winding and parting cut, materials are turned into base paper; after steps of base paper coating, press finishing and rewinding, the base paper is turned into the precoated water transfer printing paper base paper. The process of the invention has the advantages of simple technological flow, smooth paper surface, good stiffness, stable printing dimension, big differences of both paper surfaces on water absorption, good tensile strength, short decoating time and even decoating.
