The process comprises the following steps of: 1, sorting and neatening a protein fiber raw material; 2, arranging the hair on a three head machine; 3, folding hair wefts arranged in the step 2 into four layers, partitioning the four layers into 24 small bundles and winding the small bundles on 24 aluminum pipes; 4, putting the hair wefts wound on the pipes in the step 3 into a steam setting cabinet for setting; 5, taking the hair wefts out of the setting cabinet and cleaning the hair wefts with water; 6, taking the hair wefts down from the aluminum pipes and soaking the hair wefts in medicinal liquid; 7, putting the hair wefts soaked by the medicinal liquid into a steam drying chamber for drying; 8, straightening the dried hair wefts by permanent hair styling; and 9, packaging. The artificial hair produced by the process is convenient to wear and comb, is soft and bright and has a compact structure, high elasticity, and low maintenance cost when used subsequently.

An artificial hair and a wig using the same are provided which have the property of thermal deformation expanding upon heating by a hair drier or others used for hair styling.The artificial hair 1 is made by mixing at the pre-determined ratio a semi-aromatic polyamide having a glass transition temperature between 60-120° C. and a resin not expanding in said temperature range. A wig having a body with an inside surface for engaging a user's head and an outside surface. The outside surface has hair strands projecting therefrom. The body is placeable in an operative position on the user's head to cover at least a portion of the user's scalp so that the projecting strands give the appearance of natural hair. A method of retaining a hair ornament such as a wig to hair comprises the steps of fixing retaining devices for hair ornament (10) to the hair ornament, wherein the retaining device for hair ornament (10) has a squashable tube (11) into which a plurality of hairs are to be inserted, and a net (13) attached with an adhesive tape (12) having adhesive layers (12b, 22b) on the inner surface of said tube (11), inserting a plurality of hairs (101) into the tube (11), and squashing the retaining device for hair ornament (10).
