391 results about "Perch" patented technology

Perch is a common name for fish of the genus Perca, freshwater gamefish belonging to the family Percidae. The perch, of which three species occur in different geographical areas, lend their name to a large order of vertebrates: the Perciformes, from the Greek: πέρκη (perke), simply meaning perch, and the Latin forma meaning shape. Many species of freshwater gamefish more or less resemble perch, but belong to different genera. In fact, the exclusively saltwater-dwelling red drum is often referred to as a red perch, though by definition perch are freshwater fish. Though many fish are referred to as perch as a common name, to be considered a true perch, the fish must be of the family Percidae.

Pest-proof bird feeder

A pest-proof bird feeder for supplying bird feed to song birds includes a storage container for bird food which is both cylindrical and transparent and has a lower end and an upper end. A cap is removably mounted on the upper end of the storage container. The cap includes a collar about the storage container and a lid is located over the upper end of the storage container and extends beyond the storage container. The storage container is concentric with the lid. A lower collar is mounted on the lower end of the storage container and includes a base partially across the lower end of the storage container. An inner cylinder extends from the base generally concentrically with the lower collar and the storage container. The base has a center opening communicating with the inner cylinder. The inner cylinder has a plurality of food ports located adjacent and generally equidistant from the base and generally equally spaced about the inner cylinder. A baffle is located toward the lower end of the storage container and extends into the inner cylinder for directing the supply of bird food to the food ports. A barrier is located in the inner cylinder generally parallel to the base and beyond the food ports from the base. The barrier has a center point. An outer sleeve is mounted to slide on the inner cylinder. The outer sleeve is longer than the inner cylinder. A lower cable extends substantially from the center point of the barrier. A perch has the shape of a disc and has a center point. The lower cable is connected to the center point of the perch. The outer sleeve rests upon the perch and extends on the inner cylinder toward the food ports. The diameter of the storage container is larger than the diameter of the outer sleeve and the diameter of the perch is greater than the diameter of the storage container. An upper cable extends from the barrier through the storage container and the cap to suspend the bird feeder.

Method for shaping ecological decontaminating type combination stream channel wet land system

The invention relates to a method for forming an ecologically-sewage-purifying compound riverbed wetland system, which is characterized in that: a 30-60mm round gravel, a 12mm medium gravel, a 6mm gravels as well as coarse sands and soil matrixes are filled in the new riverbed from the lower part to the upper part to form a compound riverbed and the top of a shoal of the compound riverbed is positioned below the low water level of the river; the aquatic plants are planted on a soil layer of the shoal of the compound riverbed; the deep grooves and the slopes are protected and built by ecological concrete; thus, the ecological ecologically-sewage-purifying compound riverbed wetland system is formed. The invention has the advantages that a comprehensive treatment system with the plant-the matrix-microorganism is formed, thus enhancing self-purification capability of the river, purifying water body of the river and improving water environmental quality of the river; section form of the riverbed is transformed into a compound riverbed structure in which the shoal and the deep grooves exist simultaneously and the riverbed wetland system is arranged in sinuous way in longitudinal river, which facilitates perch and growth of the aquatic creature and diversification of the river creature; a water distributor is laid to carry out the depth treatment for tail water reaching the standard; the invention has the advantages of simple structure and construction, convenient operation, stable function and low manufacture cost.
