The invention provides a packaging device and a packaging method of a packaged object. An interval transferring vertical bagging packaging machine is equipped with multiple catching devices on a rotating stage. A first spiral packaging device is configured at a first packaging place. A clamp and the first changing catching metering device of a gauge are configured at a metering place. A second spiral packaging device and a second changing catching metering device are configured at a second packaging place. When the metering value acquired by the gauge of the first changing catching metering device is more than a first threshold value, the second spiral packaging device and the second changing catching metering device are maintained in a non operating state. When the metering value acquired by the gauge of the first changing catching metering device is less than the first threshold value but more than a second threshold value lower than the first threshold value, the second changing catching metering device does not operate and the second spiral packaging device supplements the packaged object in an amount not corresponding to the pulse count. When the metering value acquired by the gauge of the first changing catching metering device is less than the second threshold value, the second changing catching metering device performs changing catching metering of the bag and the second spiral packaging device supplements the packaged object.
