Method and System For Measuring User Experience For Interactive Activities

InactiveUS20100004977A1Objective viewMarket predictionsSensorsCrowdsVisual perception
The present invention is directed to a method and system for measuring the biometric (physically, behaviorally, biologically and self-report based) responses of an audience to a presentation or interactive experience that provides a sensory stimulating experience and determining a measure of the level and pattern of engagement of that audience and impact of the presentation or interactive experience. In particular, the invention is directed to a method and system for measuring one or more biometrically based responses of one or more persons being exposed to the presentation in order to determine the moment-to-moment pattern or event based pattern and overall level of engagement. The method and system can include eye tracking to determine areas of the presentation that correspond to high and low levels of biometric responses suggesting high and low levels of visual impact. Further, the invention can be used to determine whether the presentation or the content in the presentation is more effective in a population relative to other presentations (or content) and other populations and to help identify elements of the presentation that contribute to the high level of engagement or impact and the effectiveness and success (or failure) of the presentation for that population.

Method and system for localized data retrieval

A system and method for localized data retrieval to disseminate data about points of interest at a display venue, based on a local area network established with a series of commonly named wireless access points operatively connected to a main router. The system is connected to a user's mobile device through an application they are directed to download. Each WAP has a common name and is located about the display venue in close enough proximity to other WAPs so as to constitute an uninterrupted communication platform with the main LDRS computer from which data about the points of interest is polled. Interspersed about the display venue is a series of tracking devices causing nearby mobile devices to self report their location to the LDRS computer.

Method and apparatus for geolocation of a network user

A database correlating the geographic locations of users of a network to the network address through which the users access the network is maintained and used to infer the geographic location of other users of the network that access the website through the same IP addresses. An Internet website operator may generate such a database from home or business address information self-reported by users of the website. If a plurality of users that access a website through the same IP address have self-reported information as to their geographic location to a website operator, that information collectively provides information as to the likely geographic location and the geographic diversity of other users that access the network through that IP address. Accordingly, such information is used to infer the extent to which a given IP address is likely to correlate to any particular geographic area and the particular area. Additionally, a website operator that has information indicative of the veracity of the self-reported location information may use that information to rate the likelihood that the self-reported location information for a given user is truthful and then use that rating to provide an even more accurate rating of the likelihood that an inferred location of a user is in a given location.

Method and apparatus for ADS-B validation, active and passive multilateration, and elliptical surviellance

A system and method are disclosed to track aircraft or other vehicles using techniques including multilateration and elliptical surveillance. Unlike conventional approaches that use time difference of arrival for multilateration at a fixed set of reception points, this technique allows targets to be tracked from a number of dynamic or moving reception points. This allows for triangulation / multilateration and elliptical surveillance of targets from combinations of fixed, fixed and moving or only moving ground-based receivers, sea-based receivers, airborne receivers and space-based receivers. Additionally this technique allows for ADS-B validation through data derived from only two receivers to assess the validity and integrity of the aircraft self-reported position by comparing the time of arrival of the emitted message at the second receiver to the predicted time of message arrival at the second receiver based on the self-reported position of the aircraft and the time of arrival at the first receiver. The benefits of using less than three receivers for validation include greater validation coverage areas using a smaller set of ground stations at a lower infrastructure cost.

Fit recommendation via collaborative inference

Some embodiments of the invention provide techniques for recommending a size of a subject item to fit a subject consumer. In some embodiments, clusters of consumers with fit characteristics similar to the subject consumer are identified, using one or more data clustering algorithms, based on any of numerous consumer attributes (e.g., self-reported and / or inferred height, weight, body shape, body characteristics, and / or purchase histories (e.g., consumers with high overlap in terms of sets of products purchased)). Information on other consumers in the cluster may be analyzed to draw conclusions on how different sizes of the subject item may fit the subject consumer. For example, the purchase history of other members of the cluster may be analyzed to determine whether other members purchased a particular size of the item, and if so, the size purchased by the other members may serve as a basis to recommend a size that may best fit the consumer. For example, if other members of the cluster purchased a particular size, then that size may be recommended to the subject consumer, or if other members of the cluster purchased and then returned a particular size (e.g., for being too small), then another (e.g., larger) size may be recommended to the subject consumer.

Truly automated online prescription process

The present invention provides a fresh method and system for truly automated online prescription purchases while providing improved security for issuing prescription simultaneously. Within the said online pharmacy network, both patients and doctors (M.D.s) are registered users. Doctors (M.D.s) will be verified by one of the authorities, such as the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), an organization that maintains a database of physician board certification information on more than 700,000 specialty physicians representing 36 medical specialties and 88 subspecialties. ABMS contains information primary sourced from 24 recognized medical specialty boards, not self reported by physicians, and is fully recognized by key healthcare accreditation organizations for credentialing purposes. Once a doctor's status is verified, he / she has the authority to issue online prescriptions or approve patients' online prescription requests within the said online pharmacy network. Patients who wish to purchase prescription online will register with the said online pharmacy network and provide personal information such as credit card numbers, email addresses, and etc. Once a patient is registered with the said online pharmacy network, he / she has the ability to request an online prescription that will be used towards prescription purchases within the said online pharmacy network. A patient can choose from diverse payment methods and delivery preferences without obtaining or dropping off a conventional paper prescription at a pharmacy that has a physical location for pick-up. The present invention will reduce the likelihood of prescription abuse by avoiding counterfeit paper prescriptions, improve the efficiency of the prescription purchase by automating the processing of prescription writing and dropping off, permitting patients who wish to order discounted prescription drug online without adopting the existing prescription fax-in or mail-in methods.

Apparatus and Method for Monitoring Rehabilitation from Joint Surgery

Apparatus and methods are described for setting rehabilitation goals for a patient, measuring patient movements, storing the movement data for later transfer to a computer, displaying progress indicators and inspirational messages based on progress towards goals, reporting movement, skin temperature and swelling data to a caregiver so that they monitor compliance and be aware of potential infection. The invention consolidates data from motion, temperature and swelling sensors placed on the patient with data received directly from the patient in response to questions displayed on a tablet computer screen, to create one or more representative values indicating the patient's current status. These representative values may include the patient's degree of compliance with their prescribed exercise and icing regimen; their degree of wellness based on their self-reported pain scale and sensed temperature and limb swelling; and their current level of physical activity as detected by the motion sensors.

Polynucleotide detection method employing self-reporting dual inversion probes

Method of detecting a target polynucleotide based on the use of dual inversion hybridization probes having stem-and-loop structures, wherein the stem portion of the structure comprises a pair of interactive arms that are substantially prevented from interacting with target polynucleotides. The arms of the dual inversion hybridization probes interact in a conventional antiparallel fashion, but have backbone polarities opposite that of the target-complementary loop portion of the probe. Arm portions of the dual inversion probes do not substantially contribute to sequence-dependent stabilization of probe:target hybrids. Incorporating inversion linkages into the structures of these probes dramatically simplifies the process of designing stem-and-loop hybridization probes.
