Optical fiber configurations for transmission of laser energy over great distances

There are provided optical fiber configurations that provide for the delivery of laser energy, and in particular, the transmission and delivery of high power laser energy over great distances. These configurations further are hardened to protect the optical fibers from the stresses and conditions of an intended application. The configurations provide means for determining the additional fiber length (AFL) need to obtain the benefits of such additional fiber, while avoiding bending losses.

Computer monitor support device for a vehicle

The computer monitor support device for a vehicle includes a console body with a monitor support body pivotally mounted on the console body. The monitor support body pivots between an upright, in-use position where a monitor supported thereon is visible and readily accessible to an operator and a downward, non-use position in which the monitor support body and attached monitor are relatively inaccessible. With the support device in the non-use position, the windshield and dashboard of the vehicle are more readily accessible. In addition, a vibration attenuator tightens the play between the monitor support body and the console body to reduce vibration and noise within the vehicle.

Plug connector arrangement

An electrical connector arrangement having a first connector which is arranged in a housing and may be brought into an electrical connection with a mating connector by the actuation of an actuation lever arranged movably on the first connector. The actuation lever being movable between a free position in which the two connectors are not fully mated and a coupled position in which the two connectors are fully mated. A portion of the actuation lever is disposed between the first connector and the housing with a clamping projection on the lever that is in engagement with a mating clamping projection on the housing when the actuation lever is in the coupled position.

Electric Motor Assist Bicyle

Methods, systems and apparatus for an electric motor assist bicycle having a hub motor mounted to the front or rear hub to provide electric motor assist, and to function as a generator to charge batteries. The motor can be either a molded or wound magnetic flux channel transverse wound stator permanent magnet motor. The bicycle hub motor includes an electronic controller mounted to the frame of the bicycle and coupled with feedback electronics for monitoring a timing, speed and direction and coupling a signal to a processing unit for adjusting the drive electronics driving the phase windings. The pedal crank arm housing of the electric motor assist bicycle can include battery access ports with batteries stacked inside the bicycle seat tube and the down tube and a strain gauge to measure the rider pedaling effort and produce a signal in response.

Chain tensioner

To provide a chain tensioner that can maintain the pressure of the oil pressure chamber at a correct level to achieve a desired reaction force and damping characteristics corresponding to the rpm, and enable a reduction in the number of parts to be machined and the number of assembling steps; reduce the amount of oil flowing out of the system; and prevent damage to the check valve, without causing an increase in size of the chain tensioner. The chain tensioner includes a check valve unit 150 that stops reverse flow of oil flowing into an oil pressure chamber 101, and a first relief valve unit 160 and a second relief valve unit 170 that release oil when the pressure reaches or exceeds a predetermined high level. The second relief valve unit 170 has a higher valve opening pressure than that of the first relief valve unit 160.

Locking device having flange seal

A locking device includes a shackle member that includes an elongated shank portion, a stop portion on a first end and a latch portion on a second end. A locking head includes a locking mechanism that has an entryway to receive the latch portion and is movable between a locked state to retain the latch portion and a unlock state to release the latch portion. A head cover includes a cover portion that engages the locking head and a flange portion that extends inwardly to define an opening to receive the latch portion therethrough. A seal structure is associated with the inner edge of the flange and sealably engages the outer surface margin of the latch portion. The seal structure may be a margin of the flange portion or a separate O-ring. The lock may be constructed as a lockable hitch pin.

Rattle-free component pairing

A component pairing comprises a first component with a first component toothing and comprises a second component with a second component toothing which is in engagement with the first component toothing in order to be able to transmit a drive force in a drive direction via the component toothings. The first component is also assigned a first anti-rattle toothing. An anti-rattle component is fastened to the second component, which anti-rattle component has a second anti-rattle toothing which is in engagement with the first anti-rattle toothing. The anti-rattle component is mounted so as to be displaceable relative to the second component in the drive direction. The second component and the anti-rattle component are assigned in each case one friction section. The friction sections are in frictional engagement with one another.
