Disclosed are a switch mode power amplifier and a field effect transistor especially suitable for use in a switch mode power amplifier. The transistor is preferably a compound high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) having a source terminal and a drain terminal with a gate terminal therebetween and positioned on a dielectric material. A field plate extends from the gate terminal over at least two layers of dielectric material towards the drain. The dielectric layers preferably comprise silicon oxide and silicon nitride. A third layer of silicon oxide can be provided with the layer of silicon nitride being positioned between layers of silicon oxide. Etch selectivity is utilized in etching recesses for the gate terminal.

The method is characterized in that through the distributed control technology, system busbar voltage of a microgrid is adjusted actively through local information interaction, thereby realizing smooth transition of the microgrid from an island operation mode to a grid-connected operation mode. A synchronous correction signal generated by a synchronous controller is only transmitted to a leader microsource; the leader microsource realizes information interaction with adjacent microsources; meanwhile, other microsources exchange information with adjacent microsources thereof; and finally, all of the microsources reach conformity behavior, that is, voltage and frequency are consistent, reactive power is allocated in proportion, and the microgrid system busbar voltage is synchronous with a large power grid, thereby realizing seamless grid connection. Compared with a conventional synchronous method, the method, based on local sparse communication, does not need a complex communication network, thereby reducing cost, and improving system reliability, flexibility and redundancy. Besides, even though a distributed communication network has fault, the bottom droop control can still keep normal operation of the system.

A feedback circuit for restoration of DC reference levels in video signals is presented. In one or more embodiments, a DC sample pulse is generated representing the back porch of an incoming video signal. A sample and hold circuit, which is controlled by the DC sample pulse, obtains the correct offset voltage in the output signal during this back porch period. The offset voltage feeds back through an integrating node in front of the circuit causing an amplifier to compensate for the signal offset thereby restoring the video signal to its proper DC voltage level with respect to ground.
