Methods for Diagnosing Cancer by Characterization of Tumor Cells Associated with Pleural or Serous Fluids

A method for diagnosing or differentially diagnosing a cancer characterized by the presence of cancer cells in the pleural fluid of a mammalian subject, the method comprising contacting a sample of pleural fluid of the subject with colloidal magnetic particles coupled to a ligand which binds to a determinant on a cancer cell, but does not bind above a baseline threshold to other cellular and non-cellular components in pleural fluid; subjecting the pleural fluid-magnetic particle mixture to a magnetic field to produce a cell fraction enriched in ligand coupled-magnetic particle-bound cancer cells, if present in the pleural fluid; and analyzing the enriched fraction for the number of cancer cells in the pleural fluid. In certain aspects, this method involves preparing the pleural fluids for the above-noted method steps by, e.g., dilution of unprocessed pleural fluid. In certain aspect, the pleural fluid is subjected to the diagnostic method within 24 hours of withdrawal from the subject. This method has advantages to present diagnostic procedures for identifying malignant pleural effusions. The tumor cells present in pleural fluid can be characterized with cellular and molecular markers to determine prognostic and predictive factors.

Solving method used for dynamic response when elastic boundary shallow arch generates internal resonance

The invention discloses a solving method used for dynamic response when an elastic boundary shallow arch generates internal resonance. The method is carried out on the basis of a dimensionless kinetic equation, corresponding rigidity parameters are used for representing the magnitudes of vertical elastic constraint and rotating-direction elastic constraint on the shallow arch, the modality of the elastic boundary shallow arch is supposed through a general solution and a particular solution to a differentiation equation, the natural vibration frequency is obtained due to the fact that a determinant corresponding to a modality coefficient matrix is equal to zero, an average equation in the polar form under the three internal resonance conditions of 1:2, 1:1 and 1:3 is derived through Galerkin discretization of the kinetic equation of the shallow arch and multiscale perturbation analysis, and therefore dynamic response used when the internal resonance is generated can be obtained. Due to the thought that constraint rigidity is considered in the modality and the natural vibration frequency, existing technical problems generated in a dynamic response solving process when the elastic boundary shallow arch generates the internal resonance are solved. Safety and reasonability of the built shallow arch are guaranteed, and the service life of the shallow arch can be prolonged.

Characteristic point matching method based on relativity measurement

The invention relates to a feature point matching method based on correlation measurement, which comprises: shooting multiple scene images to be matched and inputting the scene images into a computer; calculating gradient of each pixel of the images, and extracting feature point information of the images; for each extracted feature point, dividing a round neighborhood into blocks by taking the feature point as a center, and calculating a gradient mean of each subarea obtained by the dividing step; utilizing the gradient of each pixel point of the subarea and the gradient mean of the subarea to establish a Harris correlation matrix of the subarea and calculate a determinant and a track of the Harris correlation matrix; utilizing the determinant and the track of the Harris correlation matrix to construct a Harris correlation measurement, and utilizing the Harris correlation measurement to construct a Harris correlation descriptor; and calculating Euclidean distance among the descriptors of the feature points, and applying measurement criteria to carry out matching. The method does not need to calibrate parameters of the pickup camera, does not need human participation during matching, automatically finishes matching, and has the characteristics of simplicity, practicality, dense matching points, high matching precision, good robustness and the like.

PMD and chromatic dispersion tolerant clock recovery

Consistent with the present disclosure, a method and system for detecting a clock phase of an optical signal in a coherent receiver is provided that is insensitive to polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and other polarization effects in the optical communication system. The clock phase of the received signal is estimated by first calculating a phase shift between a pair of related frequency domain data outputs of a Fourier transform circuit. The calculated phase shift includes a phase component and a data spectrum component. The calculated phase shift is then averaged over a number of clock cycles to remove the data spectrum components thus enabling extraction of the phase component. A determinant function on the time averaged result is used to normalize any effects of PMD from the received signal and isolate the phase component. In this manner, the phase component is not dependent on the PMD effects in the optical communication system. The imaginary part of the phase component is then calculated to estimate the clock phase error which is used to tune an oscillator in the receiver to synchronize a sampling phase in the receiver with the received signal. An estimated value for the chromatic dispersion is determined from a resultant value of the determinant function and used to compensate for the effects of chromatic dispersion from the clock phase error estimate.

Self-adaptive moving electron multiplying CCD video image denoising method

The invention discloses a self-adaptive moving electron multiplying CCD video image denoising method. According to the method, bidirectional registering is performed on the reference frame and the current frame of a low-light video sequence by adopting a determinant projection mode, the sum of deviation squares of projection of two sequentially continuous frames of images is calculated and the obtained function of the sum of deviation squares is a function related to displacement, and then the maximum displacement of the two sequentially continuous frames of images is found by traversal of the matrix of the sum of deviation squares; and the overlapped area of the two frames is obtained by the calculated displacement coordinates of the two sequentially continuous frames of images, image information of the overlapped area is not changed after the overlapped area is obtained and noise randomly changes and meets a Gaussian noise model, the displacement direction of the images is judged, bidirectional registering is performed on the images, and then weight filtering is performed to remove noise. Noise of electron multiplying CCD moving videos can be removed, and the image correction effect is great so that a ghost problem caused by the conventional moving video denoising method can be avoided.

Determinant and sparsity constraint of non-negative matrix factorization (DSNMF) data integrity authentication watermark method of wireless body area network

The invention discloses a determinant and sparsity constraint of non-negative matrix factorization (DSNMF) data integrity authentication watermark method of wireless body area network. The DSNMF data integrity authentication watermark method of wireless body area network mainly aims at solving the problem that institute of electrical and electronic engineers (IEEE) 802.15.6.integrity authentication needs to additionally add message authentication codes. The DSNMF data integrity authentication watermark method of wireless body area network comprises two steps: watermark embedment at a sending end and watermark extraction at a receiving end. In the sending end, data feature vector is acquired by DSNMP decomposing processed integer plane matrix of sample data and watermark is generated. Encryption watermark is embedded in the data in parallel, and the sample data are acquired by reconstructing the data. In the receiving end, reference watermark is acquired using the same method with the sending end, the encryption watermark is extracted and deciphered to acquire extracted watermark, the reference watermark and the extracted watermark are compared, and integrity authentication of the data is realized. The DSNMF data integrity authentication watermark method of wireless body area network is capable of saving communication cost required in transmitting 32-bit authentication codes, and reducing energy consumption.
