The invention discloses a

layout design method and
system based on a
design structure matrix. Firstly, the logistics relation between a
welding production line and a material bufferarea is analyzed; then, according to the occupied area and the preliminary
layout of the two types of regions; a
layout pattern is provided. The method comprises the steps of calculating main equipment and labor quotas of an automobile
welding workshop, discussing the composition of an auxiliary
production area and the non-logistics relationship between the auxiliary
production area and a weldingproduction line and a material buffer area, obtaining the comprehensive relationship of all the areas through weighted calculation in combination with the obtained logistics relationship, determiningan optimal scheme by adopting a comprehensive evaluation method, and giving a final layout diagram. According to the method, a
design structure matrix and automobile workshop layout design are combined; meanwhile, all areas of the workshop and the logistics and non-logistics relation between the areas are considered, a
design structure matrix is used for simply and vividly displaying components of the workshop, a designer can better understand the
system structure, and clustering, sorting and other analysis methods are used for reasonably designing the layout of the workshop.
