This invention relates to the technical field of anti-caries functional foods or oral care products, specifically disclosing the application of sea buckthorn pulp in the preparation of a formulation combined with
sodium fluoride for caries prevention. By constructing a caries model in SD rats, the anti-caries effect of the
combined use of sea buckthorn pulp and low-concentration
sodium fluoride was systematically evaluated. Experimental results show that sea buckthorn pulp is rich in active ingredients such as flavonoids and organic acids; the combination of sea buckthorn pulp and 250ppm
sodium fluoride solution at volume ratios of 9:1, 7:3, or 1:1 comprehensively inhibited caries lesions at all stages of the
smooth surface and pits and fissures of rat molars; furthermore,
biosafety evaluation showed that no
pathological damage was observed in the major organs,
oral mucosa, and cecal mucosa of rats in each sea buckthorn intervention group, and the weight
recovery effect was better than that in the
sodium fluoride positive control group. This invention achieves synergistic caries prevention by low-concentration
sodium fluoride and sea buckthorn pulp, providing a scientific basis for the development of low-fluoride, high-efficiency natural anti-caries functional foods or oral care products.
