Device and method for testing electric strength of dielectric fluid under inhomogeneous field

The invention discloses a device and method for testing the electric strength of dielectric fluid under an inhomogeneous field, and belongs to the interdiscipline field of the high voltage technology and fluid mechanics. The device and method aim to solve the research problem that the breakdown characteristics of fluid under various sorts of inhomogeneous electric fields cannot be achieved through an existing technology. The device comprises a reaction vessel, the dielectric fluid, a pin type high voltage electrode, a grounding electrode, an optical fiber, a high voltage DC electric source, a photomultiplier, an oscilloscope and a controller. The method includes the steps that the pin type high voltage electrode is started to conduct discharging to the grounding electrode, so that an inhomogeneous electric field is formed; light generated in the discharging process is received by the optical fiber and is displayed on the oscilloscope; the controller processes a received electric signal, a dielectric liquid discharging physical model is established, a finite element method is used for conducting numerical solution on a fluid dynamic model, and corresponding assignment calculation is conducted on continuity equations of positive ions, negative ions and electrons; the change rule of space charges and electric field intensity in the discharging process of the dielectric fluid is expressed from the micro level.
