Methods to increase electrode life in devices used for extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT)

Medical devices with novel spark gap electrode designs, able to control manually or automatically the electrodes gap are provided. These devices are used to generate a shock wave created by the rapid expansion and collapse of a plasma bubble that is formed between two spark gap electrodes placed in a special liquid medium, when a high differential voltage (kV) is applied to the electrodes. The resulting shock wave impacts a reflector to direct the energy into the body of an animal or a human toward the desired treatment location. This electro-hydraulic principle to create acoustic shock waves as a method of treatment is in use in the medical (lithotripsy, orthopedic use, wound treatment, burns, post-operative treatment, pain treatment, diagnosis, skin and organ transplantation supporting devices, arteriosclerosis treatment), cosmetic (treatment of scars and cellulite) and veterinary (treatment of musculoskeletal disorders) fields.

Collapsible Recumbent Tricycle

ActiveUS20110248467A1Collapsed quickly and easilySmall sizePassenger cyclesWheel based transmissionEngineeringCantilever
One embodiment of a tricycle (20) having a spine frame (22), supported by a rear wheel (34) and a pair of steerable front wheels (36), and supporting a recumbent seat (42) pivotably attached at its rear. A pedal boom (44) extends forwardly of the spine (26) and supports a pedal crank assembly (46). The front wheels each support a lateral arm (28) with the front wheel pivotably attached at the distal end and an angular projection (80) attached at the proximal end. A pivot (78) connects each angular projection to the spine, allowing the lateral arms and attached front wheels to fold to a stowed position alongside the spine. Another pivot (84) connects the boom to the spine, allowing the boom fold back to a stowed position against the spine. In the travel position, clamping means arrest the angular projections, and can arrest the boom and seat. The tricycle is collapsible to several levels of compactness. Other embodiments are described and shown.

ActiveUS20130233371A1Readily portableQuickly deploySolar heating energyPV power plantsEngineeringSolar module
A deployable photovoltaic array comprising a plurality of photovoltaic modules attached to a collapsible support unit, where said support unit is made up of a pair of laterally spaced similar pantographs. Each pantograph has the form of a plurality of interconnected rhombs made by pivotally joined elongated arms. Two opposite sides of each solar module are attached to a pair of corresponding nearest parallel arms on the opposite sides of said pantographs. Said array in its deployed condition for large solar elevation angles acquires a characteristic staircase-like form. Angles of said rhombs may further be adjusted to achieve an optimal inclination of said solar modules with respect to the current direction to the sun. In the stowed configuration said array may be held in a protecting container, and is readily portable.

Third wheel collapsing device for a golf club cart

A third wheel collapsing device for a golf club cart includes a third wheel support frame having a U-shaped frame fixed pivotally with a third wheel and a hollow support arm fitted therein with a fit block. The support arm and the fit block respectively have insert holes and connecting holes. A support base assembled on the support arm has a pivotal shaft under the bottom and a threaded hole before the pivotal shaft for receiving an elastic lock member, which has an engage rod pressed downward by a spring and controlled by a user. The support base has a fastening frame fixed with the lower end of the main frame of a golf club cart. When the engage rod is pulled upward and removed out of the first insert hole of the support arm and the first connecting hole of the fit member, the third wheel support frame can be transversely collapsed.

Combat Vehicle Seat Installation For Protection Of Occupants From The Effects of Ground Explosions

A seat installation for a combat vehicle which protects an occupant from the effects of an explosion detonated beneath the vehicle in which breakaway structures are interposed between a seat pan and the vehicle floor which initially rapidly drives the seat up after the explosion, but which quickly breaks away to avoid spinal compression injury. A crushable energy absorbing structures thereafter absorb the floor motion, each structure comprised with a vertical stack of crushable energy absorbing cells which are successively crushed at higher force levels to adapt the seat installation to varying weight occupants. A pivoted foot rest provides spaced above the floor which mitigates injuries to the feet and legs by allowing the feet to avoid contact with the floor and which swing up and away from the floor while avoiding tipping of the seat.

Foldable infant carriage frame

The invention discloses a foldable infant carriage frame. The foldable infant carriage frame comprises a front foot stand, a rear foot stand, a carriage hand rack and a seat portion. The upper end of the front foot stand is in pivot joint to the lower end of the carriage hand rack. The upper end of the rear foot stand is in pivot joint to the side portion of the carriage hand rack. The seat portion is arranged between the front foot stand and the rear foot stand. The seat portion comprises a front seat plate, a rear seat plate and a clamping mechanism. The front seat plate is fixed to the front foot stand, and an acute angle is formed between the front seat plate and the front feet stand. The rear seat plate is in pivot joint to the rear feet stand, and the front seat plate is in pivot joint to the rear seat plate. The front feet stand, the rear feet stand, the carriage hand rack and the rear seat plate form a four-bar linkage mechanism provided with four rotating pivot points. The clamping mechanism limits the relative rotation of the front seat plate and the rear seat plate, so that the front seat plate and the rear seat plate are maintained in the same horizontal plane to form a seat plane of the seat portion. The clamping mechanism limits relative pivot rotation of the front seat plate and the rear seat plate, so that locking or unlocking of the foldable infant carriage frame is achieved. Compared with the prior art, the foldable infant carriage frame has the advantages of being simple in structure and convenient to operate.
