A terminal structure provides interfacing with power electronics circuitry and external circuitry. The thermal support may receive one or more power electronic circuits. The support may aid in removing heat from the terminal structure and the circuits through fluid circulating through the support. According to the present invention, an optical element can be provided of which the refractive power for light passing therethrough can be efficiently controlled with a small configuration utilizing an electrowetting phenomenon and which allows continuous transmission or concentration of light from a blue laser (short-wavelength laser).

A device is disclosed for self administration of adjustable lumbar traction by a user in a supine position upon a support. The device comprises an upper body harness releasably encircling the torso and anchored to the support spacedly outwardly of the user's head, a lower body harness releasably encircling the user's waist and anchored to a support spacedly outwardly of the user's feet and user adjustable elastically biased tensioning members extending between the lower body harness and the support to which it is anchored. An apparatus is described for forging a workpiece (3) with an intermittently drivable clamping head (4) for the workpiece (3) and with a counter-holder (5) for receiving the end of the workpiece (3) averted from the clamping head (4), which counter-holder is rotatably held in a frame (12). In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the counter-holder (5) is connected with an intermittent rotational drive (13) which can be triggered synchronously to the clamping head (4).

A sealing structure having a gasket installed in an installation groove in one member. The gasket has a body section whose width is less than the width of the installation groove. On opposite ends, in the depth direction of the installation groove, there is provided a pair of seal surfaces that contact a surface of another member and the bottom of the installation groove.
