Methods, systems, and devices using reprogrammable hardware for high-speed processing of streaming data to find a redefinable pattern and respond thereto

A reprogrammable packet processing system for processing a stream of data is disclosed herein. A reprogrammable data processor is implemented with a programmable logic device (PLD), such as a field programmable gate array (FPGA), that is programmed to determine whether a stream of data applied thereto includes a string that matches a redefinable data pattern. If a matching string is found, the data processor performs a specified action in response thereto. The data processor is reprogrammable to search packets for the presence of different data patterns and / or perform different actions when a matching string is detected. A reconfiguration device receives input from a user specifying the data pattern and action, processes the input to generate the configuration information necessary to reprogram the PLD, and transmits the configuration information to the packet processor for reprogramming thereof.

Wideband planar transformer

A method of arranging and fabricating parallel primary and secondary coils of a wideband planar transformer is provided. The spacing and width of the coils are disposed to extend the bandwidth from DC to GHz and allow for high frequency coupling when the core permeability dramatically drops and achieves low reflected energy and low loss over a wide bandwidth. Dielectric material envelopes the middle portion and a displacement feature of the mold creates a vacancy. A ferrite element is deposited to the vacancy. A second top mold spans the bottom mold and dielectric material is deposited to create a molded assembly. A deposited patterned conductive coating connects the element ends to define the transformer coils.

Parameter checking method for on-chip ESD protection circuit physical design layout verification

A checking mechanism for complete full-chip ESD protection circuit design and layout verification at layout level identifies all of both intentional and parasitic ESD devices contained in the design layout file and compiles a netlist. The checking mechanism then determines the critical operating parameters of the identified ESD devices and determines if the parasitic devices will negatively effect ESD protection performance. The checking mechanism then determines if the intentional devices meet design specifications; eliminates parasitic devices which will not negatively effect ESD protection from the netlist, and retains those parasitic devices which may lead to ESD protection malfunction. Design layout verification and faults are then reported.
