Computational medical treatment plan method and system with mass medical analysis

The present disclosure is directed toward global medical data analysis methods, systems, and computer program products for analyzing, classifying, and matching mass amounts of medical information from many sources and across different regions. The global medical data analysis system includes a medical main server that contains an intelligent medical engine, which is communicatively coupled to a central database, a confidential electronic medical records database, and further communicatively coupled through a network to hospitals, clinics, and other medical sources. The intelligent medical engine receives voluminous medical record, potentially from different countries, regions, and continents. Electronic Medical records are sourced from hospitals, clinics, and other medical sources, which are fed into the intelligent medical engine for large-scale analysis and correlation of patients' medical records globally. The analysis starts by degrouping (classifying) medical records into multiple levels of subgroups according to patient clinical parameters, disease templates, treatments and outcomes. When a new patient enters the system, that patient's parameters and disease template are matched against the closest subgroups to suggest treatments with potentially favorable outcomes.

System and process for presenting search results in a tree format

A system and process for graphically displaying the results of a standard electronic search to a user on a display device via an interactive search results window in which the user views and refines search results items using a tree format. In general, the tree has a first level that indicates how the search results may be refined. The second level of the tree shows what subsets (what) are available for a particular refining method. The third level shows how the already refined (by the second level) results may be refined further. This is repeatedly applied with odd-numbered levels of the tree indicating how the results may be refined, and even-numbered levels indicating what subsets are available. In addition to the tree, the search results window also includes a listing of the search results items associated with a user-selected portion of the tree.

Managing configurations of system management agents in a distributed environment

A method, system and computer program product for managing system management agent configurations which include agent system management programs and program parameters in a distributed environment. A configuration management server sends upon request from the agents installed on the distributed system a description of their configuration. To this effect, the configuration management server maintains a database storing the agent configuration information, this database being usually updated by a system management administrator. The agents get from the server the list of peer distributed systems having the same agent configuration and their configuration from one distributed system of the list or obtain an agent configuration directly from the configuration management server if the peer distributed systems have modified their configuration. The agents advise the system management server when a new configuration has been installed.

A system and method that permits a plurality of clients to remotely search and share biometric information contained in single or a plurality of databases over a local area network, wide area network or public network such as the Internet. The system comprises one ore more remote workstations each having a camera and means for converting facial images of persons of interest to biometric templates. A biometric search query may be placed from the remote workstation to one or more searchable databases containing a plurality of biometric templates. The databases are connected to the workstation by communication means through a server that manages data traffic between the remote workstation and the database. A search engine compares the biometric template of the person of interest to those stored on the database(s) and indicates a match according to a predetermined confidence interval. A predetermined number of matches are prioritized in order of similarity to the person of interest and returned to the workstation for review.

Apparatus for controlling variable valve device

A variable valve device modulates movement of a valve for internal combustion engine by using a hydraulic pressure. The variable valve device is controlled by a control device via a control valve that modulates hydraulic pressure supply to and discharge from the variable valve device. The control device offsets an operating amount of the control valve by an offset component that shifts the operating amount outside a dead band. The control device sets the offset component smaller as the hydraulic medium temperature increases. The control device sets the offset component smaller when a controlling direction coincides with a biasing direction of a biasing member than that when the controlling direction opposes to the biasing direction. Further, the control device cancels the offset component when the actual valve movement is sufficiently close to the target valve movement.

An attribute-based policy defining subjects' access to resources is enforced by a computer system. A processing means (PDP) in the system communicates with a nearby attribute value source and at least one remote attribute value source and is adapted to evaluate the policy for an access request containing one or more explicit attribute values, which together with the policy define at least one implicit reference to a further attribute value, which is retrievable from one of said attribute value sources. The processing means reduces the policy by substituting attribute values for attributes in the policy if they are contained in the request or retrievable from the nearby source. References to further attributes retrievable from a remote source only are cached together with intermediate results. All attribute values from a given remote source are retrieved on one occasion, and the intermediate results are used to terminate the evaluation.
