Non-volatile memory and method with bit line compensation dependent on neighboring operating modes

When programming a contiguous page of memory storage units, every time a memory storage unit has reached its targeted state and is program-inhibited or locked out from further programming, it creates a perturbation on an adjacent memory storage unit still under programming. The present invention provides as part of a programming circuit and method in which an offset to the perturbation is added to the adjacent memory storage unit still under programming. The offset is added as voltage offset to a bit line of a storage unit under programming. The voltage offset is a predetermined function of whether none or one or both of its neighbors are in a mode that creates perturbation, such as in a program inhibit mode. In this way, an error inherent in programming in parallel high-density memory storage units is eliminated or minimized.

Drive methods and drive devices for active type light emitting display panel

In a drive device for an active type light emitting display panel which can apply a reverse bias voltage to an EL element, in order to be able to compensate deterioration in light-emitting efficiency of the EL element accompanied by applying of the reverse bias voltage and the like, one pixel 10 is composed of a controlling TFT (Tr1), the driving TFT (Tr2), a capacitor C1, and the EL element E1. Switching switches SW1, SW2 mutually enables a supplying state of a forward current to the EL element E1 and an applying state of the reverse bias voltage to be selected. In one control form according to the present invention, when the applying state of the reverse bias voltage shifts to the supplying state of the forward current, by switching one switch first, the anode and cathode of the EL element E1 are made to the same electrical potential to allow electrical charges to be discharged. Thus, charge of the forward current for a parasitic capacitance of the EL element E1 can be performed rapidly, and rising of the lighting operation of the EL element can be advanced.

PFM-PWM DC-DC Converter Providing DC Offset Correction To PWM Error Amplifier And Equalizing Regulated Voltage Conditions When Transitioning Between PFM And PWM Modes

To prevent a voltage glitch in the regulated DC output voltage of a PWM / PFM DC-DC converter when switching between PFM and PMW modes, the error amplifier of the converter's PWM regulation path is provided with a DC voltage offset correction mechanism. This mechanism “zeros-out” DC voltage offsets that may be present in the voltage regulation path, thereby enabling the error amplifier to accurately regulate the converter's output voltage. When the converter transitions between PFM and PWM modes, the DC offset correction mechanism establishes initial conditions of the error amplifier that effectively ensure that the converter's regulated output voltage at the beginning of a new “switched-to” PWM mode cycle is DC offset-free.

Electroluminescent display compensated drive signal

Subpixels on an electroluminescent (EL) display panel, such as an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel, are compensated for initial nonuniformity (“mura”) and for aging effects such as threshold voltage Vth shift, EL voltage Voled shift, and OLED efficiency loss. The drive current of each subpixel is measured at one or more measurement reference gate voltages to form status signals representing the characteristics of the drive transistor and EL emitter of those subpixels. Current measurements are taken in the linear region of drive transistor operation to improve signal-to-noise ratio in systems such as modern LTPS PMOS OLED displays, which have relatively small Voled shift over their lifetimes and thus relatively small current change due to channel-length modulation. Various sources of noise are also suppressed to further increase signal-to-noise ratio.

High-stability shift circuit using amorphous silicon thin film transistors

A high-stability shift circuit using amorphous silicon thin film transistors, which utilizes two out-of-phase pulses to control the operating mechanism and the bias-relations among transistors in the shift circuit. This makes the transistors under the driving conditions of positive / negative-alternating biases so as to restrain the voltage shift of the transistors such that the threshold voltage will not excessively increase along with the increasing operating time. This can not only increase the lifetime of the amorphous silicon thin film transistors but also extend the operating time of the shift circuit.

Hysteretic buck converter having dynamic thresholds

A hysteretic buck converter provides improved regulation control, in particular for buck converter standby operation. A comparison circuit compares the output voltage of the buck converter to a waveform that is generated from an indication of the output current of the converter, so that the turn-on time of the converter is advanced as the output current demand increases.
