Control Valve System with Cycle Monitoring, Diagnostics and Degradation Prediction

A valve body has an elongated bore in communication with an inlet port and an outlet port. A valve element is movable within the bore between deactuated and actuated positions. A valve sensor generates a sensor signal indicative of an instantaneous parameter of the valve that changes between the deactuated and actuated positions. A logic unit receives the sensor signal and a pilot command signal that actuates the valve. A predetermined change in the pilot command signal causes the logic unit to determine a cycle parameter responsive to a time period between two predetermined events. At least the beginning or end of the time period corresponds to a predetermined value of the sensor signal. The individual determinations of the cycle parameter are accumulated to obtain an expected cycle parameter. The logic unit generates an indication signal when the cycle parameter exhibits a predetermined variance from the expected cycle parameter.

A motor with positive torque parking positions. The motor includes a rotor which is rotatable about an axis of rotation and a stator in magnetic coupling relation with the rotor. The stator includes a plurality of teeth each having a radially extending shaft and an axially extending face. The faces of the stator teeth define an aperture for receiving the rotor and the faces of the stator teeth and the rotor define a air gap therebetween. Each stator tooth has a notch in its face that is approximately at least as wide as the shaft of the stator tooth so that the stator has a magnetic configuration relative to the rotor for parking the rotor in a rest position corresponding to a positive torque starting position. The motor also includes a winding on the shafts of the stator teeth and a control circuit for controlling current in the winding whereby an electromagnetic field is produced for rotating the rotor at a desired speed or torque during the operation of the motor.

The valve can fulfil different fluid analytical functions and can be a multi-ports and / or multi-positions valve. The valve is provided with extra recesses in the rotor and extra ports in the stator. These recesses allow to cancel the effect of any possible leaks by evacuating them. Such a valve then prevents cross-port leaks and can advantageously be used in highly critical applications. The invention relates to an intelligent current stabilizer and method controlled by electro-rheological fluid, which is mainly characterized in that the self-adaption adjustment for the flow speed of the fluid is realized based on the combination of a laser speckle speed measurement technique and an electro-rheological technique, thereby reaching the purpose of current stabilization. When laser beams pass through the fluid containing trace particles, the transient speed of the fluid is obtained through a laser speckle speed measurement method. The transient speed of the fluid is compared with a set speed value through a control program, the electric field strength value applied on the fluid is determined; the fluid scattered with the trace particles generates electro-rheological effects; and the flow speed of the fluid in a pipeline is adjusted to be in correspondence with a set value by changing the solidification degree of the fluid, thereby realizing current stabilization. The invention can realize real-time measurement for the flow speed of the fluid and can realize automatic control for the flow speed and flow quantity of the fluid; and simultaneously, the system has the advantage of simplicity in structure and is easy to realize.
