The invention provides an automatic test method for aviation airborne equipment, which comprises the following steps of: S1, starting a sequence engine module, and analyzing input test information into a step array; s2, starting a device execution engine module and an execution thread module; s3, identifying the step array by the execution thread module, and running elements of the step array one by one according to the identified test steps; s4, the execution thread module determines a next to-be-executed test step according to the test result and returns the test result to the sequence engine module, and the sequence engine module jumps and acts on the next to-be-executed test step; and S5, after all the test steps are completed, a final test result is transmitted back to the sequence engine module. The automatic test engine architecture device comprises a sequence engine module, an execution thread module, an equipment execution engine module and an equipment thread module. According to the method, multi-level threads are adopted, repeated steps in the execution process are reduced, and the portability and the reuse rate of the test sequence are improved.
