System and method for recognizing word patterns in a very large vocabulary based on a virtual keyboard layout

A word pattern recognition system based on a virtual keyboard layout combines handwriting recognition with a virtual, graphical, or on-screen keyboard to provide a text input method with relative ease of use. The system allows the user to input text quickly with little or no visual attention from the user. The system supports a very large vocabulary of gesture templates in a lexicon, including practically all words needed for a particular user. In addition, the system utilizes various techniques and methods to achieve reliable recognition of a very large gesture vocabulary. Further, the system provides feedback and display methods to help the user effectively use and learn shorthand gestures for words. Word patterns are recognized independent of gesture scale and location. The present system uses language rules to recognize and connect suffixes with a preceding word, allowing users to break complex words into easily remembered segments.

Method for overcoming the single point of failure of the central group controller in a binary tree group key exchange approach

An approach for managing addition or deletion of nodes in a multicast or broadcast group, which avoids introducing a single point of failure at a group controller, certificate authority, or key distribution center, is disclosed. A central group controller utilizes a binary tree structure to generate and distribute session keys for the establishment of a secure multicast group among multiple user nodes. The central group controller is replicated in a plurality of other group controllers, interconnected in a network having a secure communication channel and connected to a load balancer. The secure communication channel is established using a public key exchange protocol. The load balancer distributes incoming join / leave requests to a master group controller. The master group controller processes the join or leave, generates a new group session key, and distributes the new group session key to all other group controller replicas. Each group controller is successively designated as master group controller in real time when a former master group controller crashes or relinquishes its master authority.

System and method for remotely debugging application programs

A method, system, and apparatus for debugging an application program from a workstation that is remote from a server on which the application program resides includes invoking the application program from the workstation via a network interface; displaying a user frame at the workstation that includes information generated by the application program; providing a debug view option at the workstation for generating a debug frame of the application program; and displaying the debug frame at the workstation when the debug view option is selected. A user can select options to switch between the user frame and the debug frame. The debug frame includes information about one or more components of the application program such as a list of the variables or objects, and the fields, methods, and / or the constructors associated with them. When the debug view option is selected, the information for the user frame is saved, and can be restored to regenerate the information on the user frame when the user view option is selected. The developer can view internal, public, and private code associated with the application program without compromising the security of other application programs on the server. This ability to remotely debug application programs in accordance with the present invention is thus more time and cost efficient than previous methods, and also alleviates concerns about security and unauthorized access to the server.
