The invention discloses a projection pursuit-based method for evaluating flooding risk of a drainage pipe network, which relates to the technical field of system comprehensive evaluation. The method integrates multi-aspect flooding risk effect factors from a drainage pipe network model, a geographic information system and a database system and uses a projection pursuit evaluation method for evaluating the flooding risk of the drainage pipe network. In the method, linear projection is conducted on each evaluation indicator sample; an optimal projection direction vector is searched in accordancewith a certain principle and the optimal projection direction vector reflects the important level of each evaluation indicator, namely objective weight, and based on the objective weight, a comprehensive evaluation number is established for conducting evaluation grading on the flooding risk of the drainage pipe network, thus providing technical support for emergency rescue in flood season.
