The electronic devices can determine the external clock used for communication with the NTN. The devices can receive indication of the external clock from a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or from jamming signals. Jamming signals can at least partially mask GNSS signals. Nearby devices may be using an external clock to transmit jamming signals to the NTN. Nearby devices can embed each frame cycle of the external clock into a predetermined pattern of silence periods or transmission gaps. The electronic devices can determine the relationship (e.g., duration offset) between the silence period in the predetermined pattern of silence periods and the frame boundaries of the frame cycle of the external clock. Therefore, the electronic devices can communicate with the NTN even though GNSS signals are masked.
