Tandem time of flight mass spectrometer and method of use

To provide comprehensive (i.e. rapid and sensitive) MS-MS analysis, the inventor employs a time-nested separation, using two time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometers. Parent ions are separated in a slow and long TOF1, operating at low ion energy (1 to l00eV), and fragment ions are mass analyzed in a fast and short TOF2, operating at much higher keV energy. Low energy fragmentation cell between TOF1 and TOF2 is tailored to accelerate fragmentation and dampening steps, mostly by shortening the cell and employing higher gas pressure. Since separation in TOF1 takes milliseconds and mass analysis in TOF2- microseconds, the invention provides comprehensive MS-MS analysis of multiple precursor ions per single ion pulse. Slow separation in TOF1 becomes possible with an introduction of novel TOF1 analyzers. The TOF-TOF could be implemented using a static TOF1, here described on the examples of spiratron, planar and cylindrical multi-pass separators with griddles spatial focusing ion mirrors. Higher performance is expected with the use of novel hybrid TOF 1 analyzers, combining radio frequency (RF) and quadratic DC fields. RF field retains low-energy ions within TOF 1 analyzer, while quadratic DC field improves resolution by compensate for large relative energy spread.

During solidification and/or hardening of the material, the signal shapes of the ultrasound waves penetrating the material, are recorded. The change with time of the compression wave velocity and/or the relative energy of the ultrasound waves and/or the frequency spectra of the ultrasound waves is extracted from the ultrasound wave shapes during the entire course of solidification and/or hardening of the material. This change with time of the compression wave velocity and/or the relative energy of the ultrasound waves and/or the frequency spectra of the ultrasound waves is approximated through a compensating function, preferably the Boltzmann function. The free parameters of the compensation function are associated with material properties and permit comparison of a current measurement with reference values of these parameters to permit determination of material properties of the examined material. The method is as follows: when the instant value of the zero sequence value of a bus is out of limit, a failure line section device instantly starts and records waves; a morphological filter is used for carrying out filter pre-treatment on the transient zero-sequence currents of temporary state of each line; a wavelet packet is applied for decomposing, the characteristic frequency bands of the transient zero-sequence currents of temporary state of each line are confirmed, the component of a stable state and the information of other frequency bands are eliminated and the line selection margin is improved according to the view of energy maximizing; the sizes of the relative energies in the front 1/4 period and the last 1/4 period in the back period of the failure under the characteristic frequency bands are compared according to the principle that the capacitance and current of the failure line under the temporary state attenuates fast in the characteristic frequency bands, thus forming the criterion for failure line selection. Principle analysis and imitation show that the relative energy of the first 1/4 period and the last 1/4 period in the back period of the failure is utilized for realizing the line selection, thus amplifying the temporary characteristics of the failure, avoiding the effect of an intermittent corner on the accuracy of the line section caused by the saturation of CT. The method is accurate and reliable for line selection.

Electroencephalogram signals, twinkling information and electrocardiosignals of a testee are synchronously collected by means of an electroencephalogram collecting device and an electrocardiogram collecting device respectively; electroencephalogram signal features including the relative energy of electroencephalogram rhythm waves alpha, beta, theta and delta, electro-oculogram information including twinkling frequency E and twinkling intensity F, and electroencephalogram features including heart rate values HR, LF and HF are extracted; by means of the logistic regression algorithm, the fatigue degrees are primarily divided into three classes, namely, the non-fatigue degree, the mild fatigue degree and the deep fatigue degree, and meanwhile features with large weights are screened according to logistic regression weights for feature fusion; fused feature vectors are classified again by means of the bagging algorithm based on a support vector machine, the processed feature vectors serve as input of the bagging algorithm, and the current fatigue degree of the testee is determined; different fatigue relieving methods are used according to classification results of the fatigue degree of the testee. Fatigue brain electrical characteristic research method based on different experiment difficulties

The invention discloses a fatigue brain electrical characteristic research method based on different experiment difficulties. Mental fatigue is a gradual and cumulative phenomenon, and generally shows weakening of physiological activities of the human body. Fatigue brain electricity under different states is induced by setting two groups of Stroop experiments with different difficulties, and characteristic analysis is carried out on brain electrical signals in a waking state and in a fatigue state in the two groups of experiments by using wavelet packet decomposition and a sample entropy algorithm. Experimental results show that the relative energy of alpha waves and theta waves is increased from the waking state to the fatigue state, the relative energy of beta waves is obviously reduced (P<0.05), the ratio (P<0.05) of parameters alpha/beta and (alpha+theta)/beta is gradually increased along with deepening of fatigue, and sample entropy values of encephalic regions are in decreasing tendency; compared with the experiment group with high difficulty, parameter changes in low-difficulty tasks are more obvious, and therefore the parameters alpha/beta and (alpha+theta)/beta can serve as potential indicators for measuring mental fatigue and meanwhile can verify that proper increase of experiment difficulty can prevent generation of metal fatigue to a certain extent.
