Method and apparatus for metering usage of software products using multiple signatures

A method and a corresponding apparatus (200) for metering usage of software products on a computer are proposed. The solution of the invention is based on the idea of associating (225) each product with an installation signature (indicative of the installation of the product on the computer) and with a running signature (indicative of the running of the product on the computer). The products that are installed on the computer are asynchronously determined (235) according to their installation signatures; in this way, any ambiguities (for example, caused by different versions and / or configurations of a product sharing the same executable modules) can be resolved in advance. Therefore, when at run-time the invocation of an executable module is detected (245) it is possible to use only the running signatures to identify the corresponding product uniquely (without the need of additional information about the executable module, such as its size).

Stent tissue graft prosthesis

A stent tissue graft prosthesis (20) for repairing, excluding and / or reinforcing a vessel, duct and the like in a patient. The prosthesis includes an inner expandable stent (21) of which a tissue graft (24) and preferably a multilayered tissue construct (33) is disposed thereon for application to the host tissue of a vessel, duct and the like. The tissue construct includes an extracellular matrix material (36) such as small intestine submucosa (37) for remodeling the host tissue into the prosthesis. The prosthesis further includes an outer tubular member (25) such as an outer expandable stent (44) for retaining the tissue graft on the inner stent. The ends of the inner and outer stents are coincident with or extend beyond the ends of the tissue graft to prevent eversion or fold back of the tissue graft during withdrawal of a delivery catheter in a placement procedure.

Integrated control and distribution system for the decontamination of large volume convoluted configuration spaces

A large convoluted space, such as a multi-story concourse of an airport is isolated and a chemical or biological agent in the concourse is deactivated. A plurality of deactivation gas sources (100) introduce a deactivation gas at multiple points along the concourse. Fans (66, 106) circulate the deactivation gas, sensors (110) sense concentrations of the deactivation gas at numerous points around the concourse and exhaust fans (66) exhaust air, spent deactivation gas, and some deactivation gas. A control processor (84) controls the generators, the circulation fans, and the exhaust fans in accordance with the gas concentrations sensed by the sensors to increase and decrease deactivation gas concentration in selected subregions of the concourse by increasing or decreasing generation, increasing or decreasing exhausting, or altering flow patterns among subregions.

Combination grab handle and airbag bracket

A dual function mounting bracket is affixed to a hydroformed roof side rail to allow the connecting brackets to be located at the same position as previously known despite the use of a hydroformed roof side rail frame member that has a substantially different shape and configuration. The dual function mounting bracket has a first mounting surface projecting upwardly from a second mounting surface to provide support for a grab handle connecting bracket. The second mounting surface provides support for the connecting bracket of a side curtain air bag. The second mounting surface is also configured with a pair of side tabs and a front tab for welding the mounting bracket to a hydroformed roof side rail. The grab handle spans between the mounting bracket and a spaced apart sole function mounting bracket. A bead between the first and second mounting surfaces on the dual function mounting bracket provides stiffness.

Modified antibodies containing modified igg2 domains which elicit agonist or antagonistic properties and use thereof

Through a combination of in vitro and in vivo approaches, the inventors show that human IgG2 (h2) delivers unique FcγR-independent agonistic activity to anti-CD40 antibodies and to antibodies specific to other immunostimulatory receptors, including 4-1BB and CD28. Investigation of an anti-human CD40 mAb, LOB7.4, revealed that the unique activity of h2 was dependent upon the precise arrangement of hinge and CH1 disulfide bonds. Chemical ‘shuffling’ or mutagenesis to ‘lock’ LOB7.4 into either a more flexible ‘h2A’ or more compact ‘h2B’ conformation endowed antagonistic and agonistic properties, respectively. Engineering of h2 in this way allows development of reagents with either immunostimulatory or immunosuppressive characteristics, with direct implication for the design of therapeutic mAb agents and fusion proteins.

Oscillating and gyrating stir stick for an ice container

A refrigerator is provided that includes an ice making system, that generally includes an ice maker for making ice, and an ice container for holding the formed ice. The ice making system may be positioned anywhere within the refrigerator, and it may be a modular ice system. The shape of the ice container limits the amount of useable space taken up by the system. The ice container includes a stir stick positioned within the ice container. The stir stick is configured to rotate and oscillate in a direction generally perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the stir stick to provide movement of the stir stick into the full area of the ice container. The rotation and oscillation of the stir stick prevents ice from melting and clumping in the corners of the ice container, while also aiding in directing the ice towards a dispensing aperture of the ice container.

Work apparatus with housing parts connected via a pivot joint

A work apparatus has a gear unit which is arranged in a gear housing. The gear unit includes a drive part arranged in a first housing part of the gear housing and an output part arranged in a second housing part. The two housing parts are connected to each other via a pivot joint which permits pivoting of the second housing relative to the first housing part about a pivot axis. The pivot joint has a clamping device for bracing the two housing parts in the direction of the pivot axis. The force exerted with the clamping device on the two housing parts is adjustable via a clamping element. To avoid loosening or releasing of the clamping device even after frequent pivoting, the clamping element moves during clamping in the direction of a clamping axis which encloses an angle α which is more than 10° with the pivot axis.
