A method and apparatus for the stabilizing of napthopyran and spiroxazine photochromic dye in a coating or plastic media is presented. As prolonged exposure to light causes degradation of the photochromic properties of the dyes, a two-tiered layering system is utilized in which a hindered amine stabilizer (HALS) and/or an ultraviolet light (UV) absorber, is placed as a clear coat layer above a bottom layer containing the photochromic dyes. The bottom layer is constructed containing the photochromic dyes by either a coating of a surface of a lens or an imbuing of the photochromic dyes into the lens material, and can further optionally contain a HALS and/or UV blocking compound itself.

An illumination assembly for a medical diagnostic instrument, includes an open ended lamp housing, an incandescent lamp disposed within the housing. An improved plunger mechanism apparatus has an internal shock absorber to increase plunger life and increases life of components found at a top and well bottom. The internal shock absorber can be an elastomer spring, die coil spring or wave spring. An actuator rod within the plunger hits the bottom of the well and compresses the internal spring, absorbing all or part of the impact shock. Likewise, when a plunger rises to the well top with a high velocity, damage is avoided as the top of the plunger hits well top apparatus. Reduction in well bottom bumper spring collapses, spring damage, and plunger damage is obtained. Damage to well bottoms having no bumper springs is avoided. Efficiency of well flow is increased by the increase in the reliability of the well operation.

An organic electroluminescent display device and fabrication method thereof is provided. The device includes a first substrate having at least one thin film transistor; an electroluminescent unit formed on the first substrate and electrically connect to the thin film transistor; a first protective layer formed on the electroluminescent unit; a second protective layer formed on the first protective layer; and a third protective layer formed on the second protective layer and in contact with the first protective layer. The device further comprises a second substrate sealed to the first substrate to form the electroluminescent unit between the first substrate and second substrate. In the device, the first protective layer comprising inorganic material, the second protective layer comprising organic material and the third protective layer comprising inorganic material are formed on the electroluminescent unit to reduce oxidation of electrodes by preventing infiltration of moisture.

Yet another embodiment of the disclosure refers to using a flywheel as a drag pump to cool components of a transient energy system. In yet another embodiment, a slip control scheme is discussed for regulating a DC bus. In yet a further embodiment of the disclosure a method is provided for reducing unnecessary turbine starts by making turbine start a function of the rotational velocity of a flywheel.

The raw natural gas is deacidized and dehydrated in units DA and DH. The treated gas is then purified by adsorption of the mercaptans in first enclosure A1. Part of the purified gas is heated in E1, then fed into second enclosure A2 so as to discharge the water adsorbed by the adsorbent material contained in this second enclosure. A water-laden purge gas is fed into third enclosure A3 containing a mercaptan-laden adsorbent material. In A3, the mercaptans are desorbed and replaced by the water. An agitator for agitating drilling fluid or other slurries or mixtures in a tank includes a pressurized and fluid-free compartment within the tank. The motor driving the agitator is housed in the fluid-free compartment. Control apparatus senses fluid levels and, in conjunction with a compressed gas source, maintains the compartment fluid-free. An electronic component and method for manufacturing thereof allow efficient separation of a mother substrate into electronic components defining individual devices. The method includes forming a conductive layer including electrodes and pads for a plurality of devices, an insulating layer that partially covers the conductive layer and that includes pad openings surrounding the pads and exposing at least central portions of the pads, and power supply lines that connect the pads of neighboring ones of the devices in the mother substrate. Power is applied to the power supply lines, and electrolytic plating is performed. Thus, plating layers are formed in the pad openings. Subsequently, external terminals are formed on the plating layers. By cutting the mother substrate, the mother substrate is separated into individual components defining electronic devices. Divided surfaces of the plurality of power supply lines are formed on each of the components so as to be separated from one another.

A guard for positioning on a fork for a fork lift or fork truck. The guard has a body configured to cover at least a portion of the bottom surface of the fork, with the body extending at least a portion of the length between the tip and the heel. A cable end fitting retainer assembly for a vehicle includes a conduit end fitting for connection to a flexible cable. The cable end fitting retainer assembly also includes an end fitting retainer arm extending from the conduit end fitting for retaining a portion of the flexible cable in a predetermined position. Thus, the working voltage of the inverter is analogous to the input voltage of the alternating current, and a power-factor regulating effect can be accomplished directly by the inverter.

In a suspension structure, a suspension link has a hollow structure in which a pair of frame brackets are joined together, while opposing each other. A turbine for use in a downhole drill string including an elongated casing defining an interior and a plurality of motor units in the interior. Each motor unit has a rotor and a stator. A torque transmission couplings connects each of the plurality of motor units to the drill string. The torque transmission couplings having flexible linkages. As a result, the power section has tight tolerances for the clearance at the tips of the rotors because the motor units are relatively stiff. The flexing normally obtained by bending the rotor shaft is accomplished and absorbed in the flexible linkages.

The present invention concerns a screw for moving plastic through a barrel in a direction of flow from a drive to a tip. The present invention relates to an ice maker having a fan assembly. The ice maker 30 of the present invention comprises a main body 40 and a fan assembly 60 mounted to the main body 40 by means of resilient mounting hooks. A housing 62 defines an external appearance of the fan assembly 60, and comprises first and second housing portions 62a and 62b. The first and second housing portions 62a and 62b are provided with concavo-convex coupling portions 63 and 63′ at positions corresponding to each other so that the housing portions can be provisionally assembled by coupling the concavo-convex coupling portions to each other. The interiors of the first and second housing 62a and 62b are partitioned by partition plates 64 to define a cold air flow passage 64f, and a discharge duct 66 is formed integrally to communicate with the cold air flow passage 64f. A box fan unit 80 is installed in the cold air flow passage 64f, and mounting ribs 65 and 65′ corresponding to opposite corners of the box fan unit 80 are formed on the first and second housing portions 62a and 62b. The first and second housing portions 62a and 62b are coupled to each other by fastening the box fan unit 80 to the mounting ribs 65 and 65′ by means of screws. A housing cover 70 formed with an inlet 72 communicating the cold air flow passage 64f is installed at a side of the housing 62.
