Catheter for radiation therapy

In an expandable part positioned on the tip end side of the catheter, protruding parts are produced in specific regions when the expandable part is expanded through the difference in elasticity between two materials having a different elasticity to one another. The structure is made to be such that low-elasticity regions and high-elasticity regions are disposed in the expandable part, and when pressure is applied the high-elasticity regions expand more than the low-elasticity regions, thus becoming the protruding parts. Alternatively, the structure is made to be such that two materials having a different elasticity to one another are made into a two-layer structure of an inner layer and an outer layer, and voids are provided in the layer formed from the low-elasticity material, so that when pressure is applied, parts of the layer formed from the high-elasticity material corresponding to the void parts become the protruding parts.

Endoscopic polarized multispectral light scattering scanning method

ActiveUS20120041290A1Fast and reliable spectroscopic detection and diagnosisRisk of harmDiagnostics using spectroscopyDiagnostics using fluorescence emissionFlexible endoscopeMedicine
Method and system for early detection of precancerous and other abnormal changes in tissue of various organs. The system comprises a combination of endoscopic scanning with light scattering spectroscopy and improves detection of abnormalities that may otherwise remain undetected. The system may include a probe that collects data of quality that is independent of a distance of the probe from the scanned tissue. During endoscopy, tissue of an organ is imaged using polarized multispectral light scattering scanning and results are presented to a user in a manner that allows detecting abnormal morphological and biochemical changes in the tissue. A determination of whether to perform biopsy may be performed while the endoscopy is being performed, which thus provides guided biopsy. An entire surface of the organ may be rapidly scanned and results of the scanning are analyzed with a reduced time delay.

Method and circuit arrangement for checking the rotor position of a synchrounous machine

A method for validating a vehicle-to-X message, in which the message is received by an antenna arrangement having a least two antenna elements connected with a communication device. An electromagnetic field strength of the message is recorded based on different reception characteristics with different power densities, wherein the message includes an absolute position of a transmitter, and an absolute position of a receiver determined on the basis of global satellite navigation or on a map comparison. A first relative position of the transmitter is calculated from the absolute positions of the receiver and the transmitter. A second relative position is calculated from the ratio of the power densities or read out from a reference diagram. If a comparison of the first and second relative positions reveals a large degree of correspondence, the message is validated, and if a large degree of deviation is detected, the message is rejected.
