The system also includes a mounting rod movable within the internal volume of the vent tube, the mounting rod being operable to push the stopper distally out of the vent tube and into the syringe barrel. The distal end of the mounting rod is provided with a shoulder and a tip extending distally from the shoulder. When pushing the stopper distally out of the vent tube, the tip engages with the bottom surface of the stopper's cavity to apply a first pressure, and the shoulder engages with the proximal surface of the stopper to apply a second pressure.
