An apparatus is provided for thermally processing substrates held in a carrier. The apparatus includes an across-flow liner to improve gas flow uniformity across the surface of each substrate. The across-flow liner of the present invention includes a longitudinal bulging section to accommodate a across-flow injection system. The liner is patterned and sized so that it is conformal to the wafer carrier, and as a result, reduces the gap between the liner and the wafer carrier to reduce or eliminate vortices and stagnation in the gap areas between the wafer carrier and the liner inner wall.

Methods, systems, and apparatus for uniform chemical-vapor depositions

Integrated circuits, the key components in thousands of electronic and computer products, are generally built layer by layer on a silicon substrate. One common technique for forming layers is called chemical-vapor deposition (CVD.) Conventional CVD systems not only form layers that have non-uniform thickness, but also have large chambers that make the CVD process wasteful and slow. Accordingly, the inventor devised new CVD systems, methods, and apparatuses. One exemplary CVD system includes an outer chamber, a substrate holder, and a unique gas-distribution fixture. The fixture includes a gas-distribution surface having holes for dispensing a gas and a gas-confinement member that engages or cooperates with the substrate holder to form an inner chamber within the outer chamber. The inner chamber has a smaller volume than the outer chamber, which not only facilitates depositions of more uniform thickness, but also saves gas and speeds up the deposition process.

A ventilated vehicle seat includes a bag formed from impermeable materials enclosing a spacer material. The latter preferably includes upper and lower netting sheets and fibers extending between the netting sheets, the fibers being sufficiently resilient to prevent total collapse of the spacer material when the seat is occupied. An air mover forces air into or draws air from the bag is coupled to the air space between the air impermeable layers. Holes are provided in the top of the bag, and the sizes are preferably selected to equalize air flow over the seating surface, rather than having all the air flow through the openings nearest the fan. An optional, porous heating layer may be located above the bag. The ventilation and trim components are preferably sewn into the seat in a single operation.

When the airflow generated in driving is compulsively guided into the intake port of the frame to pass through the airflow path and then is guided out via the exhaust port, an invisible wind wall is formed in the rear of the vehicle, thereby reducing a whirlwind region in the rear of the vehicle. Therefore, the airflow is smoother and thus the driving efficiency is improved.

At least one of the floor or the ceiling includes a vane projecting into and deflecting the guided air in the airflow path, wherein the vane has an upstream end proximate to the wall guide and a downstream end extending toward the heat exchanger chamber for initiating a portion of the substantially right angle turn for a portion of the airflow.
