This invention belongs to the field of mechanical manufacturing, specifically relating to a
welding method for a spiral drum tooth seat of a
coal mining
machine. The invention proposes to first deposit an
isolation layer on the
welding bevel surface of the tooth seat before
spot welding it to the spiral blades. Before depositing the
isolation layer, the
entire tooth seat is preheated in a furnace to prevent cold
cracking in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and reduce its
embrittlement. After the deposit is completed, the weld
toe is repaired using
argon arc welding, and then slowly cooled to
room temperature.
Argon arc welding is then used to optimize the geometry of the weld
toe and reduce the
stress concentration factor. After cooling to
room temperature, the tooth seat is then spot welded to the spiral blades without further preheating. This method eliminates the need for on-site
flame preheating during the
welding of the tooth seat and spiral blades, completely eliminating the associated safety risks. The batch preheating of the tooth seats before
spot welding ensures thorough preheating and high economic efficiency, effectively preventing cold
cracking in the HAZ and reducing its
embrittlement.
