Methods and systems for redesigning pre-existing concrete mix designs and manufacturing plants and design-optimizing and manufacturing concrete

Design optimization methods can be used to design concrete mixtures having optimized properties, including desired strength and slump at minimal cost. The design optimization methods use a computer-implemented process that is able to design and virtually “test” millions of hypothetical concrete compositions using mathematical algorithms that interrelate a number of variables that affect strength, slump, cost and other desired features. The design optimization procedure utilizes a constant K (or K factor) within Feret's strength equation that varies (e.g., logarithmically) with concrete strength for any given set of raw material inputs and processing equipment. That means that the binding efficiency or effectiveness of hydraulic cement increases with increasing concentration so long as the concrete remains optimized. The knowledge of how the K factor varies with binding efficiency and strength is a powerful tool that can be applied in multiple circumstances. A concrete manufacturing process may include accurately measuring the raw materials to minimize variation between predicted and actual strength, as well as carefully controlling water content throughout the manufacturing and delivery process.

Self-compacting concrete

The invention relates to self-compacting concrete which is used for overcoming the contradiction between flowability and stability, early strength and delayed coagulation, contraction and expansion and the like of the self-compacting concrete in the prior art. In the invention, by means of combination of an aliphatic (hydroxyl) sulfonate superplasticizer and a polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer, selection and collocation of a cementing material and coarse and fine aggregates as well as specific mix design, the self-compacting concrete (more than C40) with low consumption of the cementing material is prepared from coal ash, mineral powder and tailings, wherein, a ketoaldehyde condensate is taken as the main component of the aliphatic (hydroxyl) sulfonate superplasticizer; and when the superplasticizer is added to cement paste, the mixed concrete has the advantages of good construction workability, less possibility of bleeding and segregation, no crystallization precipitate at low temperature and the like. Compared with the prior art, the self-compacting concrete prepared by the method provided by the invention has the advantages of lowering cement consumption by at least 70kg / m<3>, reducing consumption of the cementing material by at least 70kg / m<3>, comprehensively utilizing at least 470kg / m<3> of solid waste, and lowering concrete cost by at least **yuan / m<3>.

Hybrid design of an anode disk structure for high prower x-ray tube configurations of the rotary-anode type

The present invention is related to high power X-ray sources, in particular to those ones that are equipped with rotating X-ray anodes capable of delivering a much higher short time peak power than conventional rotating X-ray anodes according to the prior art. The herewith proposed design principle thereby aims at overcoming thermal limitation of peak power by allowing extremely fast rotation of the anode and by introducing a lightweight material with high thermal conductivity (2) in the region adjacent to the focal track material (4). The extremely fast rotation is enabled by providing sections of the rotary anode disk made of anisotropic high specific strength materials with high thermal stability (1, 3, 6) which will be specifically adapted to the high stresses building up when the anode is operated, as for example fiber-reinforced ceramic materials. An X-ray system equipped with a high peak power anode according to the present invention will be capable of high speed image acquisition with high resolution and high coverage. Such a high-speed rotary anode disk can advantageously be applied in X-ray tubes for material inspection or medical radiography, for X-ray imaging applications which are needed for acquiring image data of moving objects in real-time, such as e.g. in the scope of cardiac CT, or for any other X-ray imaging application that requires high-speed image data acquisition. According to a further exemplary embodiment, the invention is directed to a rotary anode disk divided into distinct anode segments (10a, 10b) with adjacent anode segments which may e.g. be limited to each other by straight radial (14a) or S-shaped slits (14b) ranging from the inner anode bulk (1) to the inner radial edge of the anode disk's outer frame section (3). Other exemplary embodiments of the present invention relate to a rotary anode disk structure design which comprises liquid metal conductors (16a) between the inner anode bulk (1) and a rotary shaft (12) needed for rotating the rotary anode disk about its rotational axis (5), said liquid metal conductors (16a) providing a liquid metal connection between the rotary anode and its rotary shaft (12), or to a rotary anode disk structure which comprises a sliding radial connection (17) and a flexible heat conductor (18) between the inner anode bulk (1) and the rotary shaft (12).

The invention relates to a composition of skeleton interlocking coarse grain-type high-modulus asphalt concrete and a determination method thereof and belongs to the field of road engineering design. The concrete contains No. AH-30 low-grade hard asphalt as cementing material having a needle penetration degree of equal to or less than 30 and coarse aggregates having maximum nominal particle size of not less than 26.5 mm. The gradation curve is designed based on the design concept of coarse aggregate gap gradation, and the optimum oil-stone ratio is determined based on the mix design of asphalt mixture in the closest state. The concrete is a novel asphalt concrete material which is good in deformation resistance and load-carrying capability and has technical reliability and economic rationality, and can form the closest skeleton interlocking structure. The high temperature stability of the asphalt mixture is greatly improved, and the mechanical property of the asphalt mixture is enhanced as well. The strength is increased by more than 50% as compared with the common asphalt mixture, and the dynamic complex modulus is increased by more than 30% as compared with the similar foreign products. Therefore, the asphalt concrete has excellent road performances.

The invention relates to a high-frost-resistant hydraulic concrete for high elevation regions. The concrete is characterized in that a single formula of the concrete comprises the components in percentage by weight: a gel material, which is 230-420 kg/m3, wherein the gel material comprises 80-100% of cement and 0-20% of limestone powder, or 60-100% of cement and 0-40% of coal ash, or 60-100% of cement, 0-20% of limestone powder and 0-20% of coal ash; a gravel aggregate, which is an artificial or natural gravel material, wherein the total amount of the gravels is 1800-2100 kg/m3, and the ratio of medium gravels to small gravels is 60: 40, 50: 50 or 45: 55, and the sand ratio is 30-34%; water, which is 110-125 kg/m3, wherein the water-binder ratio is not greater than 0.48; and an additive, which comprises a high-performance water reducer and an air entraining agent, wherein the doping amount of the water reducers accounts for 0.6-1.2% of the total mass of the gel material and the air entraining agent accounts for 0.005-0.02% of the total mass of the gel material. By virtue of steps of optimization of local raw materials, mix design, site operation, early maintenance and the like, the high-frost-resistant hydraulic concrete for high elevation regions is prepared.
