The invention relates to a method for processing high grade color yarns treated by post mercerization, comprising the following steps: cotton dyeing, i.e. respectively selecting a certain amount of cotton to be dyed into various standard colors by adopting high temperature alkali resistant dyes; cotton blending, i.e. proportionally blending one or more of the cotton dyed into standard colors with natural color cotton according to requirements; and spinning yarns, i.e. dyeing yarns by adopting high temperature alkali resistant dyes. In the method, only a few of specific standard colors are required to dye in the process of cotton dyeing, yarns of different color systems can be combined through redyeing yarns, thereby accelerating the production process of color yarns; cotton dyeing and yarn dyeing both adopt high temperature alkali resistant dyes, thereby resisting post mercerization and improving the color fastness, gloss and washing shrinkage; only little dyed cotton is necessarily taken to be blended with a large amount of the natural color cotton in the process of cotton blending so as to reduce the spinnability due to cotton dyeing as much as possible and spin high count yarns.
