A streaming measurement agent designed to experience, measure, and report on a media stream as an actual end user would experience the stream. Preferably, agent resides transparently within a streaming media player itself so that it can monitor stream packet flows within the player as the measured streams are being played. In an illustrative embodiment, the agent comprises a performance monitoring module (PMM), which is software that resides in an interface between an existing core module and a renderer of a media player. The agent PMM intercepts each useful packet as it goes from the core to the renderer and, as a result, it is able to compute quality metrics about the playback. The agent functions “transparently” to the media player by presenting the core with an application programming interface (API) that emulates the API that the renderer normally presents to the core. Thus, when the core believes it is calling the renderer, it is actually calling the agent PMM, which can then receive all the packets from the core and process them. After computing relevant performance metrics using the packets it receives, the agent PMM calls the renderer. A set of performance agents can be managed by a service provider to enable a content provider to determine how a stream is perceived by end users.

Mobile station of global position system for rubber-tyred gantry crane

The present invention relates to a mobile station of Global Position System (GPS) for a rubber-tiered gantry crane (RTG), and it mainly comprises one or two GPS receiver(s), a radio receiver, two crane encoders, a control processor, and a programmable logic controller (PLC). The mobile station adopts Real Time Kinematics (RTK) technology of the GPS, and gets a high precision coordinates of three dimensions, then sends it to the control processor and gets the current crane position of the RTG and the offset between crane wheel and the central line of crane runway. At the same time, the control processor receives and calculates the signals sent by the crane wheel encoders, and checks up and reckons the crane position and the crane wheel offset, converts it to a 4-20 mA current signal by a digital-analog converter (D/A) or transfers it to the PLC directly by a serial port, and complete the crane auto-steering function; on the other hand, the control processor calculates the crane position and transfers it to the PLC via the serial port, completes the auto-register of the container management. The present invention can make the RTG keep agility with in moving from one yard to another, and can also make it work stable and reliably like a rail gantry crane and report the accurate container positions. Thus, the container management is made to be highly automotive.

Method and system for nonsequential instruction dispatch and execution in a superscalar processor system

A method and system for permitting nonsequential instruction dispatch in a superscalar processor system which dispatches sequentially ordered multiple instructions simultaneously to a group of execution units on an opportunistic basis for execution and placement of results thereof within specified general purpose registers. Each instruction generally includes at least one source operand and one destination operand. A plurality of intermediate storage buffers are provided and each time an instruction is dispatched to an available execution unit, a particular one of the intermediate storage buffers is assigned to any destination operand within the dispatched instruction, permitting the results of the execution of each instruction to be stored within an intermediate storage buffer. An indication of the status of each instruction is maintained within a completion buffer and thereafter utilized to selectively transfer results within the intermediate storage buffers to selected general purpose registers in an order consistent with an application specified sequential order. The occurrence of an interrupt which prohibits completion of a selected instruction can therefore be accurately identified within the completion buffer.
