A night-vision device (NVD), also known as night optical/observation device (NOD) and night-vision goggles (NVG), is an optoelectronic device that allows images to be produced in levels of light approaching total darkness. The image may be a conversion to visible light of both visible light and near-infrared, while by convention detection of thermal infrared is denoted thermal imaging. The image produced is typically monochrome, e.g. shades of green. NVDs are most often used by the military and law enforcement agencies, but are available to civilian users. The term usually refers to a complete unit, including an image intensifier tube, a protective and generally water-resistant housing, and some type of mounting system. Many NVDs also include optical components such as a sacrificial lens, or telescopic lenses or mirrors. The circuit comprises an imaging circuit, an image decoding and displaying circuit and a power supply and main control circuit. The imaging circuit is used for acquiring images; the image decoding and displaying circuit is used for decoding a video signal on the images acquired by the imaging circuit and displaying the images; and the power supply and main control circuit is used for providing qualified power supplies to the imaging circuit and the image decoding and displaying circuit and for realizing and controlling image signal channels and all application functions of the whole device. The imaging circuit is a CCD imaging circuit; the image decoding and displaying circuit adopts a microdisplay and outputs colored images in light and dimlight. In the invention, the CCD chip combination is adopted to ensure image acquisition in light; in addition, since an infrared light source is built in the night-vision device, the night-vision device shows colored images in light and dimlight and shows black-white effect in complete dark; and the observation distance in light is infinite and the observation distance in dimlight is more than 600 m, and the observation distance in complete dark is less than 250 m.
