The invention discloses a near-
infrared scintillator performance testing device and method, and belongs to the technical field of
scintillator irradiation detection. A near-
infrared sensitive
silicon photomultiplier is adopted to replace a PMT, and in combination with a reading circuit (Sent Company) and a digital
spectrometer, a set of test
system covering the
wave band of 270-900 nm is constructed. The number of SiPM single-
photon response channels is determined through a multi-
photon spectrum test, X-rays are utilized to excite a
scintillator, a
pulse height spectrum is collected, data are analyzed in combination with ROOT
software, and key performance parameters such as light yield, energy resolution and
decay time are calculated. The test method comprises the steps of SiPM multi-
photon spectrum calibration, scintillator near-
infrared luminescence verification,
optical coupling and
radioactive source excitation,
signal digital acquisition and off-line
processing. The
system breaks through the limitation of traditional visible
light detection, achieves efficient detection of the performance of the near-infrared scintillator, has the advantages of being simple in structure, wide in
wave band coverage, capable of synchronously obtaining energy and
time information and the like, and is suitable for the fields of
medical imaging,
radiation monitoring and the like.
