Streaming of media streams from a game console

ActiveUS20140187317A1Large latencyLow memory and processing capabilityVideo gamesSelective content distributionReproductionGame console
An approach is provided for streaming of media streams (e.g., from a game console). In one implementation, a media stream that includes a secondary view of the game world may be generated at the game console. The secondary view may be of a lower-quality version of a primary view of the game world. The generation of the media stream may include: prefetching, to a cache of the game console, portions of the primary view and / or instructions for encoding the portions; and encoding, based on the prefetching, the portions to produce the secondary view. In another implementation, game play information may be executed to reproduce previous game play of a previous game session during a reproduction of the previous game session. Augmentation content may be added to the reproduced game session during the reproduction of the previous game session, creating an augmented game session having one or more views for streaming.

Deep learning architecture for maintenance predictions with multiple modes

Example implementations described herein involve a system for maintenance predictions generated using a single deep learning architecture. The example implementations can involve managing a single deep learning architecture for three modes including a failure prediction mode, a remaining useful life (RUL) mode, and a unified mode. Each mode is associated with an objective function and a transformation function. The single deep learning architecture is applied to learn parameters for an objective function through execution of a transformation function associated with a selected mode using historical data. The learned parameters of the single deep learning architecture can be applied with streaming data from with the equipment to generate a maintenance prediction for the equipment.

Dispersion model for band gap tracking

Methods and systems for determining band structure characteristics of high-k dielectric films deposited over a substrate based on spectral response data are presented. High throughput spectrometers are utilized to quickly measure semiconductor wafers early in the manufacturing process. Optical models of semiconductor structures capable of accurate characterization of defects in high-K dielectric layers and embedded nanostructures are presented. In one example, the optical dispersion model includes a continuous Cody-Lorentz model having continuous first derivatives that is sensitive to a band gap of a layer of the unfinished, multi-layer semiconductor wafer. These models quickly and accurately represent experimental results in a physically meaningful manner. The model parameter values can be subsequently used to gain insight and control over a manufacturing process.

Apparatus and method for classifying network packet data

A network monitor provides improved understanding of the type of data being transmitted by packets by capturing rendezvous packets, such as domain name server queries and responses, to extract text domain names that may then be associated with later packets using a common numeric addresses. Text domain names intended for human understanding and recollection provide a unique insight into the content of the packets not readily obtained by analysis of the packet data itself.

Method of interactive visualization and parameter selection for engineering design

The present invention relates to a method of interactive visualization and parameter selection for engineering design. Initially, a nominal topology and associated design variables are set. The design variables are treated as being independent of each other for the purposes of a design variable sweep or sensitivity analysis to determine effects of changes in design variables on performance. The results of the sweep are presented to a designer, for example, by a suitable software tool including a graphical user interface. The designer selects design variables and revises their values based on the visually presented results of the sweep and effects a simulation using the revised values. If the results are satisfactory and a stopping condition is satisfied then the method is done. Otherwise, a determination must be made as to whether additional values can be changed or whether a new sweep must be effected. If a sweep is to be made, according the method of the present invention, an optional step is to change to topology prior to sweeping.

Computer system and method for predicting petrophysical properties in a fluid having one or more phases in porous media

A compositional simulator that is fully compositional and more robust and accurate is disclosed. Relative permeability (kr) and capillary pressure (Pc) are modeled as state functions, making them unique for a given set of inputs, which can include Euler characteristic, wettability, pore connectivity, saturation, and capillary number. All of these are made to be a function of composition, T, and P or rock properties. These state function kr-Pc models are fully compositional and can fit experimental data, including complex processes such as hysteresis. The models can be tuned to measured relative permeability data, and then give consistent predictions away from that measured data set. Phase labeling problems are eliminated. Flux calculations from one grid block to another are based on phase compositions. Simulations for three or four-phase hydrocarbon phases are possible. Time-step sizes increase to stability limits of implicit-explicit methods. Fully implicit methods are possible and significant improvements are expected.
