Solar heated & powered ultrasonic air freshener diffuser

An air freshener apparatus to atomize and diffuse liquids or suspensions into a mist by means of conversion of collected solar energy into thermal radiation passed through a wire for optionally heating said liquids and conversion of solar energy into electrical energy stored in batteries and used for subsequent atomization of said optionally heated liquids by means of piezoelectric ultrasonic vibrations. In one embodiment, the resulting mist and fragranced aromas of atomized liquids or suspensions are communicated through housing vent openings to an external environment such as a room or an automobile. In an alternative embodiment, additional diffusion of said atomized liquids and associated fragranced aromas is achieved by means of connecting the present invention, with its attachable clip, to the louvers of a building's or an automobile's ventilation system that, when blowing air, provides additional diffusion of fragrance into the air inside of a building or an automobile.

Crawling insect barrier device and corresponding method

A crawling insect barrier in which the combination of elements functions as a natural device to prevent ants or other crawling insects from accessing a table, cabinet, storage bin, structure, or any area wherein crawling insect infestation is undesirable. In one embodiment, a feather ring comprises a string (elastic or fixed length) to which natural feathers of various sizes and shapes are fastened, to thereby create a natural barrier or boundary that prevents crawling insects from crossing, and thus inhibiting the insects' ability to carry food, mark a path, build a nest, or infest an area. In another embodiment, a band or strap is used as the underlying surface on which the feathers are attached. If the string, band or strap is not elastic, the crawling insect barrier can be attached with adhesive or some other conventional fastener. The invention also includes a corresponding method of making the natural crawling barrier.

Systems and methods for implementing unique offsetting stacker registration using omni-directional wheels for set compiling in image forming devices

A system and method are provided for improving stack integrity for a set of image receiving media substrates at an output of a compiler in an image forming device by positioning a particularly configured substrate handling device downstream of the output of the compiler in a process direction. The substrate handling device is configured of a plurality of omni-directional wheeled devices that provide drive (traction) normal to a motor axis under control of one of a respective plurality of independent motors while allowing sliding in the motor axis direction. The omni-directional wheeled devices, in one embodiment, are configured with small roller wheels along the periphery of the wheel. When using three or more omni-directional wheeled devices, translational movement can be combined with rotation to deliver sheets of image receiving media exiting the compiler at a correct angle and lateral position for further processing.

Casting mold surface treatment method and casting mold using said method

A surface treatment method includes covering a surface of a casting mold with a carbon film containing at least one type of nanocarbon selected from the group of carbon nanocoils, carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofilaments, and further applying fullerenes to that surface. With this surface treatment method being performed on a surface (a cavity surface, etc. of a casting mold) making contact with a molten casting material such as aluminum, etc., sticking of the molten casting material to the mold is inhibited, release resistance of the product is reduced, and release effectiveness is improved. The release effectiveness lasts longer than in the case of a conventional carbon film.
