Solid-state circuit interrupter and arc inhibitor

A solid-state circuit interrupter and arc prevention device (SSI / APD) is disclosed. The SSI / APD is designed to be configured in series with a mechanical circuit breaker and serves to interrupt current flowing through the circuit it is protecting upon a short circuit being detected or if an overload has persisted for an inordinate amount of time. The SSI / APD is capable of detecting and responding to faults in a matter of microseconds and detects and responds to faults on its own, without requiring the mechanical circuit breaker to trip. The mechanical circuit breaker can be optionally tripped after the SSI / APD has opened the circuit. However, the mechanical circuit breaker is tripped only after the SSI / APD has interrupted the circuit, so electrical arcing across the circuit breaker's contacts is avoided. The SSI / APD can also be reset remotely after a fault has been cleared, obviating the need for a person to be present to reset it.

Model Based Control of Parkinson's Disease

The present invention relates to a novel means to use a fundamental model of the parts of the brain that are dysfunctional in Parkinson's disease, and related dynamical diseases of the brain, as part of a feedback control system to modulate the signs and symptoms of disease. Fundamental computational models that embody our knowledge of the anatomy, neurons, and dynamics of the parts of the brain we wish to control, and use those models to reconstruct what is inaccessible to our measurements. Through emulation the controller synchronizes to the parts of the brain we wish to observe and track. By passing simultaneous control pulses to both the model controller, as well as the brain, we control both the model and the brain. The detailed framework to embed fundamental models of the brain within a control scheme to control symptoms of Parkinsons and related dynamical diseases of the brain are disclosed.

Advanced object detector

An advanced object detector, system and method comprising a memory device which contains a library of tailor-made signals and specific object resonances with those signals; an antenna which will act as both the exciter and receiver directing the memory device's tailor-made signals towards locations potentially having the objects intended to be detected and receiving resonated signals from said objects being detected which have resonated with said tailor-made signals; said memory device may then interpret and categorize the resonated signal by comparing the resonated signal with the library of specific objects and their resonance's with specific tailor-made signals. After identification and categorization the memory device may then respond to the presence of the object, alert another memory device for interaction or allow for human interaction through outputting the object's presence on a screen or alerting the human through some other means. In a preferred embodiment, the system can be handheld, mobile or static and can be made with a device that can provide a wide frequency response at frequencies likely to resonate with the weapons intended to be detected. It is to be understood that this invention may detect numerous objects, including but not limited to, piping, conductive, semi-conductive and non-conductive material that have the ability to resonate with specific tailor-made signals.
