Hybrid organic solar cell with perovskite structure as absorption material and manufacturing method thereof

A hybrid organic solar cell (HOSC) with perovskite structure as absorption material and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The HOSC includes a conductive substrate, a hole transport layer, an active layer, a hole blocking layer and a negative electrode. The active layer has a light absorption layer (LAL) and an electron acceptor layer (EAL). The LAL is made of perovskite material represented by the following equation: CnH2n+1NH3XY3, n is positive integer form 1 to 9; X is Pb, Sn or Ge; and Y is at least one of I, Br or Cl. The EAL is made of at least one type of fullerene or derivatives thereof. A planar heterojunction (PHJ) is formed between the LAL and the EAL. The LAL has simple structure and fabricating process with relatively low cost, so that it is advantageous to carry out the mass production of HOSCs of flexible solid-state form.

A high efficiency photovoltaic DC-DC converter achieves solar power conversion from high voltage, highly varying photovoltaic power sources to harvest maximum power from a solar source or strings of panels for DC or AC use, perhaps for transfer to a power grid at high power levels with coordinated control possible for various elements. Photovoltaic DC-DC converters can achieve efficiencies in conversion that are extraordinarily high compared to traditional through substantially power isomorphic photovoltaic DC-DC power conversion capability that can achieve 97%, 98%, 99.2% efficiency, or even only wire transmission losses. Switchmode impedance or voltage conversion circuit embodiments may have pairs of photovoltaic power interrupt switch elements and pairs of photovoltaic power shunt switch elements to first increase voltage and then decrease voltage as part of the desired photovoltaic DC-DC power conversion.

Method and circuit for a voltage supply for real time clock circuitry based on voltage regulated charge pump

A versatile voltage regulator accommodates either an Alkaline or Lithium-Ion battery main battery and provides low-current power for a real time clock module and for charging a backup battery. Depending upon the battery power source that is used, the present invention provides a best circuit configuration for efficient power conversion. If the power converter according to the present invention provides a regulated output voltage that is greater than the main battery voltage of an Alkaline battery, a low drop-out-voltage (LDO) voltage regulator is used in feedback loop with a charge pump. Otherwise, for a Lithium-Ion battery, only a LDO voltage regulator is used. The voltage regulator includes a series low drop-out-voltage (LDO) voltage regulator that is coupled between the main external battery and the vout load terminal, when the voltage at the vout load terminal is less than the voltage of the main external battery. The voltage regulator also includes a charge pump circuit adapted to be connected in feedback loop with the LDO regulator and the vout load terminal, when the voltage at the vout load terminal exceeds the voltage of the main external battery.

A first turn-off edge signal and a first turn-on edge signal generated in a primary side control circuit are transmitted to the secondary side via the first pulse transformer so as to generate a driving signal of the first synchronous rectifier. A switching regulator includes first and second transistors, which are provided in series between power sources respectively having first and second potentials, and which convert a direct current voltage of a potential difference between the first and the second potentials into an alternating current voltage, and a control circuit. The control circuit includes a comparator which compares the alternating current voltage and a threshold voltage in a period when the second transistor is to be on, and receives a predetermined voltage, at least immediately before the period in which the second transistor is to be on, the predetermined voltage being farther than a midpoint potential of the first and second potentials from the threshold voltage. The control circuit performs control such that the second transistor becomes turned off, when the comparator judges that the alternating current voltage has exceeded the threshold voltage toward the midpoint potential direction, in the period when the second transistor is to be on.

Isolated boost flyback power converter

An isolated boost power converter comprises a magnetically permeable multi-legged core (102) comprising first and second outer legs (132; 136) and a center leg (134) having an air gap (138) arranged therein. A boost inductor (Lboost) is wound around the center leg (134) or the first and second outer legs (132; 136) of the magnetically permeable multi-legged core (102). The boost inductor (Lboost) is electrically coupled between an input terminal (104) of the boost converter and a transistor driver (106) to be alternatingly charged and discharged with magnetic energy. A first and second series connected secondary transformer windings (SW1; SW2) with a center-tap (116) arranged in-between are wound around the first and second outer legs (132; 136), respectively, of the magnetically permeable multi-legged core (102). In a first discharge state, the magnetic energy stored in the boost inductor (Lboost) is discharged by directing a discharge current from the boost inductor through a primary transformer winding (PW1; PW2) and in a second discharge state, the magnetic energy stored in the boost inductor (Lboost) is discharged by discharging a magnetic flux through the first and second secondary transformer windings (SW1; SW2).

Three or more circuits (A1-A4), in which series-connected low-voltage and high-voltage side switches made of MOSFETs having parasitic diodes are connected across positive and negative terminals of each of smoothing capacitors (Cs1-Cs4), are connected in series. One of elementary series circuits, each including a capacitor (Cr) and an inductor (Lr), is disposed between any adjacent two of the circuits with the elementary series circuits set to have the same period of resonance. The MOSFETs of rectifier circuits (A2-A4) are brought into an ON state simultaneously with the MOSFETs of a driving inverter circuit (A1) and brought into an OFF state earlier than the MOSFETs of the driving inverter circuit (A1) by a period of time not exceeding a time period (t) equal to (period of resonance) / 2. With this arrangement, a resonance phenomenon of the capacitor (Cr) and the inductor (Lr) is used and conduction loss in the rectifier circuits (A2-A4) is reduced in DC / DC power conversion performed through charging and discharging operation of the capacitor (Cr).
