A manned device and method for on-site maintenance of the
metal structure of the backwater surface of an arc-shaped gate in a
hydropower station, belonging to the field of high-altitude work equipment technology. The manned device includes a mobile walking device, a main rotating base, a secondary rotating base, a main arm, a telescopic arm, a manned frame, a platform
leveling mechanism, a counterweight
system, and a
fall protection system. The mobile walking device travels along a support track fixed to the arc-shaped gate arm in the
spillway channel; the main and secondary rotating bases achieve angle adjustment in the forward / backward, horizontal, and vertical directions; the telescopic arm works in conjunction with the main arm to achieve height and distance positioning; the platform
leveling mechanism keeps the manned frame horizontal; the
dynamic balance counterweight and detachable counterweight blocks work together to ensure the stability of the entire
machine; and the
fall protection system provides dual personal protection. This invention eliminates the need for scaffolding, allows for rapid deployment, precise positioning, and is safe and efficient. It is suitable for maintenance operations such as bolt tightening, non-
destructive testing, and
corrosion prevention on the complex curved surface of the backwater surface of arc-shaped gates, significantly improving
operational safety and efficiency.
