Computerized game with cascading strategy and full information

A gaming machine and method for operating the same has gameplay elements provided in a manner that can be visualized, with the gameplay elements having a specific nature which is revealed to the player at a beginning to the game. That is, the player knows the value, or ranking, or position, etc., of the gameplay elements upon inception of the game. In a base level for the game of the gaming machine, no unknown gameplay element or random event is injected into the gameplay elements. This is a full information format for the gaming machine and method, and success is measured by the player's ability to manipulate the gameplay elements presented. A gaming machine and a method for operating the same is also provided with the gameplay elements once again having a specific nature which is known to the player at a start to game play, and in a preferred embodiment not subject thereafter to a random or unknown event, with the gameplay elements being arranged in one of a variety of different arrangements presenting a plurality of choices to a player for subsequent play of the elements. Outcome of the game is dependent upon the choices made by the player, with a given choice potentially influencing the next choice that may be available. Embodiments of the invention in the form of a checkers game and in the form of a poker-type game are disclosed, among others.

Gaming machine with player choice bonus games

A gaming machine has a display means and a game control means arranged to control images displayed on the display means. The game control means is arranged to play an underlying game such as a spinning reel game in which random events are caused to be displayed on the display means and, if a predefined winning event occurs, the machine awards a prize. A feature game series distinct from the underlying game played on the machine may be triggered during play of the underlying game. In the feature game series a set of special indicia are provided which may have specific functions during the feature game series such as acting as wild, substitute, scatter symbols or the like. Prior to commencement of playing of the games of the feature game series, the gaming machine allows the player of the gaming machine to select at least one particular special indicia from the set of special indicia to have at least one of the particular functions during that feature game series. In an alternative embodiment at least two reels provide special indicia which both substitute for other indicia in the display and multiply any win when the special indicia substitutes for other indicia and the player may select the factors by which the wins will be multiplied when the special indicia substitutes on a particular reel.

Action video game for wagering where the player's reward to a challenge is determined by combining the player's skill in facing the challenge with the realization of a randomly generated event, where the likelihood of each possible realization of the random event depends on the player's skill

An action video game for wagering that determines the player's monetary reward in a round of play by combining the player's skill in facing a challenge presented by the game with the realization of a randomly generated event, where the likelihood of each possible realization of the random event depends on the player's skill. The game progresses by presenting a challenge to the player that requires the player to take a series of actions in order to achieve the goals implied by the challenge. The performance of the player is evaluated according to a number of features that in conjunction define skill, thus generating a skill score. The game's final outcome and monetary reward are determined by combining the skill score with a random component, where the likelihood of the random component itself can be a function of the skill score. In one embodiment of the invention, different independent mechanisms used to generate random events are indexed according to the skill score. Once the player takes action and a concrete skill score is calculated, the corresponding mechanism is chosen. The outcome presented to the player is determined by an event generated from the chosen mechanism. The game can present a single challenge, as described, or a sequential series of challenges where the final reward is a function of the accumulated outcomes from each individual challenge.

Adaptive closed loop investment decision engine

InactiveUS20110295766A1Reduce investment volatilityImprove returnFinanceStatistical analysisHigh probability
An adaptive closed loop decision engine outputs actionable alerts regarding asset holdings and allocations to reduce investment volatility and improve returns over market and sector cycles without unnecessary trading activity. The decision engine performs a statistical analysis on pricing trends that generates threshold decision points for investing in or avoiding assets and for determining asset allocation weightings within a portfolio. The engine operates in a way that yields higher returns, dramatically reduces maximum drawdown and lower volatility over market cycles. It identifies conditional probabilities, when they exist, to establish decision parameters that are applied to individual investment vehicles or, to portfolios of investments. If asset pricing were a purely random event, then no conditional probability advantage would exist to yield a statistical benefit. However, historical data and empirical evidence indicate that for broad market indices and many investable assets (e.g., funds and ETFs) pricing variability deviates from a purely random (Gaussian) nature. Specifically, some trends have a higher probability of continuing for some period of time. Furthermore, these conditional relationships can be detected and used to establish decision parameters that can improve asset returns and lower volatility over single and multiple market corrections. Any conditional relationship that has existed in the past may not continue into the future and this invention is able to detect if those relationships are changing and adapt to those changes. The recent market turbulence has highlighted the need to have a well-developed statistical model of the market and an adaptive tool to deal objectively with such volatile situations.

Electronic gaming machine and method of playing thereof

A gaming machine is provided comprising: a display; and a game controller arranged to control images of a predetermined set of symbols selectively displayed on the display. The game controller is arranged to play a game wherein symbols from said set of symbols are displayed on the display, the symbols being randomly selected and/or located on the display to display at least one random event, and if a predefined winning event occurs, the gaming machine awards a prize. At least two symbols or combinations of symbols each represent two different predetermined trigger events, the occurrence of which triggers the award of a features prize. The machine further comprises bet apportioning function which operates under the control of a player to allow the player to apportion a total credit bet across two or more possible trigger events. The feature prize associated with the occurrence of a particular trigger event is dependant upon the amount of the credit apportioned to the respective trigger event. A method of playing the gaming machine is also provided comprising; displaying a plurality of trigger events for a game to be played on the gaming machine, providing a player interface via which the player chooses bet amounts to apportion to the displayed trigger events, displaying feature prize values associated with each of the displayed trigger events after the player has apportioned his bet between the displayed trigger events, in response to player initiation displaying a game sequence and a game outcome on the display, and if the game outcome is one of the trigger events awarding the associated feature prize value to the player.
