589 results about "System of record" patented technology

A system of record (SOR) or source system of record (SSoR) is a data management term for an information storage system (commonly implemented on a computer system running a database management system) that is the authoritative data source for a given data element or piece of information. The need to identify systems of record can become acute in organizations where management information systems have been built by taking output data from multiple source systems, re-processing this data, and then re-presenting the result for a new business use.

Automated detection of associations between search criteria and item categories based on collective analysis of user activity data

A web site or other database access system provides access to a database in which items are arranged within item categories, such as browse categories of a hierarchical browse tree. Actions of users of the system are monitored and recorded to generate user activity data reflective of searches, item selection actions, and possibly other types of actions. A correlation analysis component collectively analyses the user activity to automatically identify associations between specific search criteria, such as specific search strings, and specific item categories. The results of the analysis are stored in a mapping table that is used to suggest specific item categories on search results pages.

Vehicle visual and non-visual data recording system

The system described in this invention can be used for monitoring and analyzing real time visual and non-visual information pertaining to the occupant, vehicle, and surroundings prior to, during and post eccentric operating conditions for a given period of time. The system stores vehicle and occupant data from sensors throughout the vehicle and also makes use of existing vehicle sensors that may already be present in the vehicle. The invention also includes a video recording module that makes use of a fish-eye camera to capture video from the inside and the outside of the vehicle. Real-time data analysis is performed to detect and to recognize vehicle occupants, and recognize impending eccentric events. Vehicle, occupant, and video data are stored in circular buffers. When an eccentric event, a collision for example, has been detected, the device continues to record data and video for a fixed period of time. Once this time has elapsed, the data is transferred from volatile to non-volatile memory for later retrieval. A computer may be used to retrieve and display the vehicle and occupant data in a synchronization with the video data for the purposes of accident recreation, driver or vehicle monitoring.

Storing log data efficiently while supporting querying

A logging system includes an event receiver and a storage manager. The receiver receives log data, processes it, and outputs a column-based data “chunk.” The manager receives and stores chunks. The receiver includes buffers that store events and a metadata structure that stores metadata about the contents of the buffers. Each buffer is associated with a particular event field and includes values from that field from one or more events. The metadata includes, for each “field of interest,” a minimum value and a maximum value that reflect the range of values of that field over all of the events in the buffers. A chunk is generated for each buffer and includes the metadata structure and a compressed version of the buffer contents. The metadata structure acts as a search index when querying event data. The logging system can be used in conjunction with a security information / event management (SIEM) system.

Timing commercial offers based on long-term user data

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that times commercial offers made to a user. During operation, the system starts by receiving financial history data for the user, wherein the financial history data includes purchase records for a set of purchases. The system then identifies a subset of purchases in the set of purchases, wherein the subset of purchases are semantically linked to a set of predetermined subjects. Next, the system identifies timing patterns in the subset of purchases based on timing information associated with the subset of purchases. The system then presents one or more commercial offers to the user at specific times based on the identified timing patterns.

Video recording system utilizing storage redundancy to transfer non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segments while transferring time-critical, error-tolerant streaming data segments at a required data transfer rate

The present invention may be regarded as a video recording system and method of transferring a non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segment stored on a disk drive, which is responsive to a set of data transfer commands generated by a host processor and which is operating in a mode optimized for transferring time-critical, error-tolerant streaming data segments stored or to be stored on the disk drive. The method includes sending a sequence of data transfer commands generated by the host processor to the disk drive to transfer a respective sequence of time-critical, error-tolerant streaming data segments at a required data transfer rate. The method further includes selectively interposing a first data transfer command into the sequence of data transfer commands, the first data transfer command initiating a first transfer of the non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segment from a first storage location. The method further includes transmitting a data transfer error signal generated by the disk drive to the host processor, the data transfer error signal having a state that indicates whether any data transfer errors have occurred with respect to the first transfer of the non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segment. The method further includes selectively interposing a second data transfer command into the sequence of data transfer commands, the second data transfer command initiating a second transfer of the non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segment from a second storage location, thereby utilizing storage redundancy to achieve an accuracy required for the non-time-critical, error-intolerant data segment while maintaining the required data transfer rate of the sequence of time-critical, error-tolerant data segments.

Integrated logging for remote script execution

An integrated logging system includes a client-side logging component and a server-side logging component. The client-side logging component possesses the capability of logging client-side activity information, such as may relate to the execution of a script or other suitable client-side code that is controlled and executed independently of a remote server associated with the server-side logging component. The client-side logging component may also communicate logged activity information back to the corresponding server-side logging component. Messages including logged client-side activity information are received from the client-side logging component by the server-side logging component, and the logged activity information is integrated into the server-side log(s) of a server-side logging system. Thus, activity information from an independently controlled and operated processing device, which may be used, for example for problem determination, is integrated from sources that are distributed between systems.

Method and System for Estimating Unique Visitors for Internet Sites

This invention comprises a method and system for estimating unique visitors for Internet sites that is more accurate than the existing unique cookie / unique address counting methods. The invented method relies on the count of unique user identifiers (such as network addresses or preferably cookies)—I—that can be obtained from an existing cookie tracking / user access logging system. The number of unique visitors U is calculated substantially as a ratio of the count of unique cookies (or unique network addresses) to the number of visits N times the inflation factor X plus constant on that is approximately one (exactly one in the case of cookies). The number of visits is calculated by multiplying the sampling period t to the visitation frequency T1 minus one. The resulting estimate of the unique visitors is stable and does not diverge with sampling time unlike estimates directly obtained from the unique network address or unique cookie counts. The method is also applicable when there are multiple dominant visitation frequencies by accounting to the sum by all significant visitation frequencies. All key parameters of the method can be established before hand by mining a multitude of the site's historical visit logs and / or third party site access logs; the parameters can be corrected / calculated dynamically by mining the site's current access log (or current third party logs) while focusing on unambiguously identified visitors (such as return visitors identified by their login ID or unchanged cookie value).

High performance distributed system of record

A high-performance distributed ledger and transaction computing network fabric over which large numbers of transactions (involving the transformation, conversion or transfer of information or value) are processed concurrently in a scalable, reliable, secure and efficient manner. In one embodiment, the computing network fabric or “core” is configured to support a distributed blockchain network that organizes data in a manner that allows communication, processing and storage of blocks of the chain to be performed concurrently, with little synchronization, at very high performance and low latency, even when the transactions themselves originate from distant sources. This data organization relies on segmenting a transaction space within autonomous but cooperating computing nodes that are configured as a processing mesh. Each computing node typically is functionally-equivalent to all other nodes in the core. The nodes operate on blocks independently from one another while still maintaining a consistent and logically-complete view of the blockchain as a whole.
