Aspirator for crankcase ventilation and vacuum generation

Methods and systems are provided for flowing crankcase gases through an aspirator arranged in a PCV line. The aspirator regulates PCV flow, and may also generate vacuum depending on a position of a pintle extendable across a horizontal passage of the aspirator. When regulating PCV flow and not generating vacuum, the aspirator is fully closed and crankcase gases in the horizontal passage are metered through an orifice in the pintle. When generating vacuum, the aspirator is at least partially opened and PCV flow through the horizontal passage generates vacuum at a vacuum port of the aspirator.

Access server and connection restriction method

The access server receives an authentication packet including an authentication result, a port change setting information, a port change time, a filtering setting information and a filtering time from the authentication server. The access server stores the respective information in the authentication packet into a memory. The access server refers to the memory, and in the case where the port change setting information on an arbitrary user identifier is set to perform port change, when it becomes the port change time, the access server changes the output destination of a packet from a user terminal to, for example, a proxy server B from a proxy server A. Besides, in the case where the filtering setting information on an arbitrary user identifier is set to perform filtering, when it becomes the filtering start time, the access server performs filtering on the port to which the user terminal is connected.

Automatic power-off of bluetooth device from linked device

Methods and systems for powering-off a Bluetooth device from a linked device are provided. A device can transmit a Bluetooth signal to a linked device to instruct the linked device to power-off. In this manner, the user need only turn off one device manually which results in all linked devices being powered off. This process can be initiated by a user through a device directly linked with the device to be powered-off or through a device that is indirectly connected, through one or more Bluetooth networks, with the device to be powered-off. This process can also be automatically initiated by a device when a set of predetermined conditions exist. Once instructed to do so, a device can initiate a predetermined power-off process which can involve terminating any ongoing functions and turning off various subsystems. In accordance with the present invention, a user can initiate a power-off of all the devices on a Bluetooth network through a single device.

Methods and apparatus for risk assessment of developmental disorders during early cognitive development

The nonlinear complexity of EEG signals is believed to reflect the scale-free architecture of the neural networks in the brain. Analysis of the complexity and synchronization of EEG signals as described herein provides a quantitative measure for routine monitoring of functional brain development in infants and young children and provide a useful biomarker for detecting functional abnormalities in the brain before the cognitive, behavioral or social manifestations of these brain developments can be observed and measured by standard tests. One or more machine learning algorithms are used to discover relevant patterns in the complexity and synchronization values determined from the EEG data to facilitate risk assessment and / or diagnosis of developmental disorders in infants and young children by predicting cognitive, behavioral and social outcomes of the measured functional brain activity patterns.

Restricting communication of selected processes to a set of specific network addresses

Selected processes are associated with sets of specific network addresses, and the associations are stored. When a selected process creates a child process, an association between the child process and the set of network addresses with which the parent process is associated is stored. When a selected process is deleted, the association between the selected process and its set of network addresses is deleted. Each selected process is restricted to network address-based communication via its associated set of network addresses. Certain communication protocol subroutines associated with network address-based communication are intercepted by an interception module. The interception module detects attempts by selected processes to communicate via network addresses. If a selected process attempts to communicate via an unassociated network addresses, the attempted communication is prohibited.

Attribute based communication

Attribute based communications system include a set of communication units associated with a unique network identifier in a communication network having a switch, a registration center, and a registration database. Users establish user attribute records in the registration database for correlating attributes with network identifier of the user communication unit. Users establish communication links between each other by referencing attributes of the target user rather than the network identifiers of the target user communication unit. The system relates attribute based communication request messages with the registration database to derive the network identifiers for the communication units.

Communication system, communication method, radio terminal, radio relay device, and control device

A technique is disclosed, according to which it is possible to efficiently use network resources, to reduce the burden on a control device, and to control the communication between radio terminals by the control device when a transmitting side radio terminal and a receiving side radio terminal are connected to the same radio relay device. According to this technique, when a transmitting side UE1 and a receiving side UE2 are connected to the same E-Node B 103, the transmitting side UE1 divides a transmission packet addressed to UE2 into a first packet to be transmitted via a route not passing through ACGW 105 and a second packet to be transmitted via a route passing through ACGW 105, and the packets are transmitted to E-Node B 103. E-Node B 103 transmits the first packet to UE2 and also transmits the second packet to ACGW 105. ACGW 105 receives the second packet and transmits it to E-Node B 103. E-Node B 103 receives the second packet transmitted from ACGW 105 and transmits it to UE2. UE2 receives the first packet and the second packet and synthesizes them to restore the initial packet.

Techniques for access management based on multi-factor authentication including knowledge-based authentication

An access management system is disclosed that can employ multi-factor authentication (MFA) using multiple types of authentication. In at least one embodiment, techniques may include implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) including knowledge-based authentication (KBA). MFA may be based on multiple factors, such as “what you know” (e.g., a password or an answer to a question known by a user) and “what you have” (e.g., a trusted device registered for a user). In at least one embodiment, multiple devices (e.g., a desktop computer and a mobile device) may be utilized to provide for stronger authentication using a combination of what a user has. The combination of MFA based on what you know (e.g., KBA) and what you have (e.g., a trusted device) may further ensure authentication is not compromised.
