The temperature detection and comparison module is used for detecting a temperature of a battery, comparing the temperature of the battery with a first temperature threshold, and outputting, to the power management module according the comparison result, a first indication signal indicating whether over-temperature occurs; and comparing the temperature of the battery with a second temperature threshold, and outputting, to the charge management module according the comparison result, a second indication signal indicating whether over-temperature occurs. When the first indication signal indicates over-temperature, the power management module performs a power-off operation, and when the second indication signal indicates over-temperature, the charge management module stops charging the battery. By using an all hardware circuit mode or a mode in which hardware is dominated and software is auxiliary, the apparatus improves real time performance of battery over-temperature detection and control, and enhances the reliability of battery over-temperature detection and protection and security of the wireless data communications terminal.
